Google the search term; optics planet scam.

I had much in the same experience ordering from them as most people do.

Which is that they will show an item in stock, and you order it only to get an email and/or phone call from them a few days later informing you the item is now out of stock. You will have to put up with a fairly lengthy ordeal in order to get them to refund you. But only after they attempt to get you to buy something similar from them instead of what you really wanted.

I would highly advise anyone to stay away from that company.

That's not my experience. I placed my order for mulitple items, they shipped my order completely next day and I received it later that week. Pretty much exactly as I had any reason to hope the transaction would happen. And consistent with how they handled my previous orders.

I recommend calling their service center t see if an item is in stock first. I don't think their website has live inventory updates.

I have placed orders many times, no issues ever

whenever you want to order, just google for coupons, there is always a current 5% on the net floating around

I have no problem if a company cannot keep up on whether all items are in-stock all the time. Especially when it comes to the status on a given company's website. I realize that is not entirely possible to manage such a large inventory.

The issue I do have with them is that it seems to be a prolific problem with this company.

they sell a lot of their stuff on ebay so you can get the 8% bing cashback along with ebay bucks.

I have had good and bad experiences with them. Great prices on most items, and when they are truly in stock shipping is fast. But, I have had a couple times where they notified me after I placed the order that the items were not really in stock. It was easy enough to cancel the orders.

I always find coupon codes for them - the 5% off ones and random ones for individual products. I know i still have a coupon for $200 off a Swarovski Z61 (200nght) and a $40 off code for Yukon night vision scope (bino40). If i find more Ill post em up

I purchased a Leupold VXII 4-12X40 scope from them. It was in stock, delivered promptly and they offered the best price by far.

I also ordered some Butler Creek flip up lens covers and that is where things didn't work out. I used the scope measurements from Leupold's website compared to the Butler Creek websites size charts. One was correct by the charts but wasn't close to the right size. The other was the correct package but the wrong lens cover was in it. At $6 ea. I just gave them away. Not worth the trouble to ship back and I still saved a bundle on the scope cost.

I would use Optics Planet again without hesitation.
