Need help getting my gun

Not sure how to edit this, but I got my gun back.


Approximately 13 days ago I purchased a used SBE II from a private party. Went to Badger John's Hunting stuff to the do the DROS. Show up there today and store is completely gone. No racks, shelves nothing. Haven't heard from them either, even though you have to put your number on the form. Any ideas?

If there's no forwarding address or phone number information posted on the store windows, the first thing I'd do is file a stolen firearm report with the local PD.
But ya... call the number on the above web site first, or contact at the Roseville location (though that may only be the hosting service.)

It's not unusual for a company to register multiple domains, but it is strange that they have a different web design for each one.

Then again, some may be old pages long forgotten by the webmaster. I've encountered that a few times as well.

that address shows to be a house, so I doubt it is the hosting service.

But yes, contact the local PD, they may have some info they can pass on. if not, contact CADOJ and ATF. Hopefully one of them will have some info for you.

Yep called them. No information posted on the store, just a note saying they are closed until further notice, sincerely the Badger John Family. Roseville number some marketing crap.

Looks like they may be mid-move then, or were perhaps foreclosed on.
If they were planning a move, I can't imagine they would accept a firearm for transfer within 10 days of the move date.

Definitely get the local PD involved, as well as the DOJ as mentioned.

Contact the LE agency that has jurisdiction over the place of business. This is more fraud than "stolen firearm" though as the firearm is technically owned by the ffl upon receipt. The weapon doesnt belong to the buyer until DROS is initiated/complete. Definitely get onto the ball right away and LE may be able to catch up with these folks if there is some ill intent.

With this and a few other stores around the bay area closed up suddenly, it makes one "pucker" a bit when you plunk down the cash and go into the ten day wait. My big fear is, will they still be there in 10 days..
