Probably even happier if it's just 2-3 guys... easier for the RO's to manage.

The only thing I've ever heard about this place is how you can get away with more than a normal range. That alone keeps me from going there. I like ranges with very strict rules to keep the yahoos away. Anyone who's been there notice this?

I noticed it a little when I was there. It was pretty loose on the pistol range but better on the rifle range. Sounds like no supervision on the private range

I was there on Friday, Nov. 27th, and the RO said that steel targets are now allowed at Burro (as of a few days before I was there). They never asked me or checked to see if I had steel core ammo.

Good to know. Thanks for the update.

My only suggestion if you plan on going to Burro Canyon is to get there early. Every time I go shooting there the wind kicks up really bad around noon, and ruins the shooting on the rifle range because the only things holding down your target stand are rocks (doesn't work very well and targets fall down). I have never rented a private range before, but I think they are a little more wind resistant due to their location.

Yeah, I actually had a steel target that I wanted to try out but I figured Burro was still not allowing them so I didn't bring it. When the RO told me steel was fine, I kicked myself for not bringing it!

If you shoot shotgun - slugs only at the rifle range. Pistols not allowed anymore.

I am picking up my first shotgun next Friday and wanted to try out a few different types of rounds, does that mean I would have to shoot skeet if I wasn't shooting slugs?
