Burro's fine. The facilities aren't as nice as Angeles, but in socal your choices are a little slim.sigpic
Vote for pro-gun candidates, or lose your rights, and the rights of future generations. That's it. The end.

Burro is great. As others have said, rent a private range with some friends and make a day of it."We're surrounded.....that simplifies our problem."

If you go to Burro, get a private range. But if you want to bench rest shoot, bring your own table and chairs etc.
Was there 2 weeks ago and they are not allowing Wolf ammo and no steel targets yet. still too dry
Since you live in HB, I would rather go to Angeles regular ranges.Comment

I almost always go on weekdays as my off days fall on them. Weekends can be tough....especially on the public pistol range. It can a little too 'wild west' for me, but most times it's good. The rifle side is better, but I wish they would make the lanes more obvious as you will get guys placing there targets all over the place. I usually get a private range for pistol shooting, because as a member you can use them for free if one is available....which they usually are on the weekdays and sometimes on the weekends.Comment

Get enough friends and get a private range there. If not, the public ranges are good still given the few choices in the area. I still miss the San Gabriel Valley Gun Club which got shutdown by the city of Duarte.
Rifle range - minimum shooting distance is 50 yards. Back in the days, there were always some idiot shooters that would set up pumpkins and stuff to blow up at a range of 10 feet and rapid fire.
So good thing Burro implemented some rules. If you shoot shotgun - slugs only at the rifle range. Pistols not allowed anymore.
Pistol range/skeet range - Pistols, 22LR rifles allowed, shotguns, skeet
No flushing toilets, just Porta-Potty toilets there. And if you bring a girl, there is a girls only Porta-Potty that requires a key. I bring my own water and soap to wash my hands after shooting.Comment

I totally agree. No matter how hard I try, I still ended up 1-2 lanes off on the first attempt. Doesn't help either when getting a second opinion from my friends and they misdirect me.
This past weekend, after I had my target perfectly set, I tried helping the guy two lanes over by telling him he was off. He thought he was in line, but after walking back to his bench, he realized he was off. The guy had to hike back out to realign his target to his lane.
I just thought of something. Next time I'm bringing a mirrored-compass and will take a bearing for the target.Comment
