Lead-free primers have a more shorter shelf life than lead styphnate primers, which store indefinitely. I don't recall the shelf life for lead-free primers, but I think it's more than 2 years.

Modern lead free primers last decades at least.

I don't think any of the powder manufacturers would mix up anything like what you describe even if the anti's wanted it. It would be like that 200 mpg carburetor that the oil companies "suppressed".

I heard on the radio that the Government is looking in to putting a additive in to ammunition that destroyes the gun powder after 2 years. Has anyone heard any thing about this? Is this even possible?

not if you live in the middle of the desert.... you can probably get by on now cleaning your gun for days in that dry heat.
