Ammo that goes bad after 2 years to prevent stockpiling?

I heard on the radio that the Government is looking in to putting a additive in to ammunition that destroyes the gun powder after 2 years. Has anyone heard any thing about this? Is this even possible?

I don't think it is even possible.

        Doesn't mean they won't try.

In Sacto, the only good radio station went out of business, which has left me - at 23 years old, listening to talk radio exclusively since my car does not have a working cd player or an ipod hookup -

the other night I was listening to coast to coast AM on a quick drive to the store and they were talking about alien abductions and REAL vampires. I don't buy into everything I hear on the radio...if they did try to do that though, i'd just speed up my plans to start loading my own ammo.

I have heard this in the past. I'm sure it is technically possible. The powder probably has to have enough volatiles where its degradation is rapid as opposed to more gradual. It would probably mean a reformulation rather than the addition of a simple additive.

The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

What about a secret additive that once shot thru the gun the gun will melt down being no longer useable.

Sounds like something a hitman would use.

the only suggestion about powder was made around the time after the Oaklahoma City bombing.. and the suggestion was to try to see if a trace element could be added to rifle powder if it used in a bomb....without the bozos realizing that rifle powder burns and doesn't go BOOM......

Still a few ideas around to add tracer code to the powder that if GSR is picked up the ammo manufacturer lot can be traced. So, throw in finger printing, ammo data, and then go crazy and round up suspects and use the polite soda pop torture to get to the truth. lot of babble..... the left can cobble together quite nutty scenarios and try to make them true. Run for your life.

The govt would get sued form the massive ammounts of "slow fires" that lead to harm.

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.
