A good way to threaten somebody is to light a stick of dynamite. Then you call the guy and hold the burning fuse up to the phone. "Hear that?" you say. "That's dynamite, baby."

I have only had minor issues with them over the years. And they have never had an issue with sending things to my office instead of my home address. Ever. I hate to say it, but that just doesn't add up. I have probably spent $3000 in the past year or two. The people on the phone are always nice and courteous. You need to speak with somebody higher up on the food chain than the manager of the phone bank.

If you have any kind of dealer setup, they don't like to/won't ship to another address in my experience. I wanted to drop ship some stuff to a customer out of state a while back, and there was no way they wanted to do so. The lady was pretty nice, but very firm - no way.

Midway's shipping speed (for me, anyway) has dropped back quite a bit from where it used to be. They've been working on their shipping pricing, but it's still not where it should be. I can also beat their pricing on goods a lot easier than I used to. Yes, I'm getting the same pricing as an 03. Sometimes the retail at PK Firearms is below dealer pricing at Midway. The also wait until the entire back order is in before shipping. I had some bullets on back order for months, and sometimes one or the other item would be in stock, but not both at the same time.I finally canceled one fo the items and re-ordered the other. Even though I'd been waiting for months it didn't cut any slack on the second item, I got pushed all the way to the bottom of the stack. IMHO success has been too good for them, and they no longer worry as much about some aspects of customer service.

The OP's story rings true to me. I can't understand how someone would question it without being there.

              all the best,
              Mike

Whoa that's nuts... are the absolutely stupid? Don't they see how much money in stuff you're ordering? Complete moron whoever dealt with you, I'd call them up and try to get to someone who is something in the company, they'd right it in no time I would think. That's nuts.

i know this is slightly off topic but will they not ship you the KAC product because of its problems in Cali? i thought for some stupid reason KAC products are banned by name here even their rails . Did KAC themselves not post up an explanation to this a while back? so maybe since they think it pertains to that particular issue

Most of the time it's better with dealer. When I buy a bunch of heavy stuff, like I just got 5 cases of 40 cal 180gr bullets for a LE order, it's 137lbs of bullets. Was cheaper to pay "retail". Some stuff it's cheaper to go factory direct. I get Accurate powder for $12/lb shipped from Western Powder. Missouri Bullet dealer discount is more than Graf's discount so I buy from MBC direct when I need a certain style I don't cast for.

The ladies in the dealer section are pretty good to me. When I sold reloading stuff online I bought it all from them. They take care of me and let me know about the better deals.

My experience with Midwayusa has been positive on all accounts. I have e-mailed Larry before and he does return e-mails. I'm sure yours was not the only issue he had to address that day. Be patient.

                            I'll continue to patronize Midwayusa.

                            Thanks for sharing your experience.

                              Mr. Potterfield:

I'm sorry to bring you the news that you've lost a customer.

Prior to today, I was a loyal Midway customer since you extended discounts to me as an FFL-03 holder and ordered at least $5,000 in merchandise from your company. I was very happy with your service, selection, and prices - in fact everything except the speed of your website.

But today that all changed. Having come into some money, I spent a week carefully selecting items for a major purchase, and finalized my order yesterday - which totalled over $9500. I was excited to know that my order would soon be here.

But this morning, at 6:30am, I received a from Jessica, stating that since I ordered an "Upper Receiver Action Block that requires a Type 1 FFL" they would be unable to complete my order. The item in question is product #137499 "DPMS Upper Receiver Action Block DPMS LR-308, Knight's Armament SR-25 Delrin" http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct...tnumber=137499 - this is a simple piece of plastic that serves as a protector when working with a vice grip so you don't mar the paint on a receiver. How anyone could think that this piece of plastic that doesn't actually even go inside a firearm could require any type of FFL is beyond me.

But my problem is with her next statment. She stated since I created the great offense of using a different billing and shipping address for a non-firearms purchase, she was revoking my dealer status - despite the fact that the shipping address is authorized via my credit card, and I have placed many orders in the past in this same exact way, and I was not ordering anything that required an FFL.

I was polite, asked if there was anything else I could do, and even asked that she speak to a supervisor, who said "there's nothing we can do". I even asked "if Midway was doing so much business that they would just throw away a $10,000 order" - and to my disbelief she said "Yes!"

So when I saw your message on the home page of MidwayUSA.com, I thought I would ask you if you felt the same way - because if in this economy Midway's attitude is that "we don't need your money", then I'm going to make sure to help spread your message as far and as wide as i can.

I believe in the power of 21. Tell 21 people what happen to me.
I have never ordered anything from Midway, but if the company is truly acting this way, heh, yeah, the power of "21".

Ok, how about we wait and see what the outcome is here. Rather than tarring and feathering a great company based on a couple of anecdotes that appear online. Nothing against the OP, but I have NEVER had that kind of trouble with them. I find it highly suspiscious that he had all of this happen to him while placing a huge order, and being Mr. Polite. You don't normally get that kind of behavior out of an operator AND her supervisor without doing some serious screaming and swearing on your end of the conversation. As I said before, they have ALWAYS been very courteous to me on the phone. Always. And I have never had an issue having things sent to my office instead of my house. You guys need to take a deep breath and wait for the outcome of the OP's letter to Mr. Potterfield. If he posts it on here unedited, and it still tells him that he is a shmuck, and they won't ship to him no matter what, because they think he dresses funny and smells bad, THAT is the time to start heating up the tar and plucking the chickens. Not now, when we don't have all of the facts.
