Forgotten guns

Of all those guns found in airport searches, way less than 1% are by people up to no good. It is very easy for me to believe that so many are claiming that they forgot where their guns are. Of course they did.

The bottom line is that airport searches are one of the best examples of a nanny government over reach. Before the time they started these searches, air travel was 1000 times more safe than driving a car along the highway on the same trip. But oh no, Nanny was not happy with a 1000 times safer.
They are also taking our water heaters, gas stoves, air conditioner refrigerant, and gasoline automobiles. And firearms.

I was "randomly" selected for additional screening this last trip(used my .mil id for TSA pre check) they wanted to swab my phone off all things. And no I didn't unlock it lol

people handle their phones a lot throughout the day and almost never wash them off. if you were handling chemicals that they care about, there would be a higher likelihood of transfer from your hands to the phone. they don't care if you unlock it, it can be completely powered off if you aren't on a certain list.

Last year over 6500 guns were found while people were going through a airport check point.
80 % of people claim that they forgot that it was in their bag,purse or luggage .
Having a ccw saved a few from being arrested..
I used a few backpacks when I go shooting. One for my guns and one for ammo. No matter how late it is I always put my guns back in my safe. I don't worry so much about putting away ammo.
Carrying ammo to a checkpoint is a no go also.
I find it hard to believe that so many people are claiming that they forgot where their guns are.

Most people in free states aren't taking carry guns and storing them in their safes. When you live out of Cali carrying a gun is like carrying a wallet and you don't think anything of it. The police don't think anything of it either. Our ccw is tied to our license and they don't ever ask you if you are carrying a gun, but they know you have a ccw.
People have guns in nightstands, on desks in a magnetic holster, in a back pack, in a glove box, its just normal to have guns that are easy access.
I can go into my airport with a ccw just can't go past the check point.

You fail to recognize if firearms were allowed on planes, the hijackers would have also been armed...

As I said before people are stupid. I don't want people carrying guns on planes.

They are allowed on planes, both public and private. Private you just carry them on however you want, with ammo and mags, public you have to TSA check them properly

I flew from LAX to Heathrow in London, then a flight to Johannesburg RSA and then to Bulawayo in Zimbabwe. Spent a week hunting there then boarded another flight from Bulawayo back to Johannesburg South Africa where I found three 22 rimfire rounds in the backpack that I carried through three different countries security checks.

I quickly and quietly disposed of them inside a food wrapper in a trash can.

Funny, someone I know had just qualified for their ccw (it was winter), took the same jacket on the plane to England and carried on some 9mm rounds. Did what you did when they got there.

I have one bag for the range (pockets for pistols, ears, etc.), and that bag never goes to the airport. I have bags I use to travel, the don't go to the range.

The ONLY exception is my work briefcase. I carry a G19 in there 24/7. Since it is my work stuff, chargers, laptop, cards, etc are all in there. I just make sure I take out the G and the magazine carrier, and it's sterile.

Every time i've ever cleaned out a range bag, or a car when selling it, I find loose ammo. Every time. Makes sense to separate the two things.

Do you fail to recognize that they did what they did with boxcutters, BECAUSE security screenings ensure everyone else is essentially unarmed? And that if everyone, or even 10% of the others, were armed, the planes never would have been selected as a soft target?
