Funny how on the very box it says "Copper Jacketed"... just like the picture used to describe what I purchased.

      But remember Cassius, quote:
"Can't imagine why someone would buy ammo on picture alone"

      EDIT:
I would like to reiterate that I am not dissatisfied with Ammoman.com nor the ammunition I purchased. I am simply warning other Calgunners that despite the fact that their website advertises non-magnetic ammunition, it is in fact magnetic. I am close to Lytle Creek, so shooting this ammunition is not a big deal for me.
From time of order to time of delivery was only about 10 days, which I find to be very adequate.

man... i hope my ammo order with them is not going to turn out like this.....

although I ordered yugo 7.62x54R since they were the only place i found online that offered it at that low price. but if their prices aren't great, I would like it if someone can point me to a store or online retailer that sells Yugo surplus 7.62x54R for cheaper than .33 cents a round shipped that ammoman offers. (i am actually serious, cause since shooting my mosin... i'm kinda hooked.. haha and want to get as much non-magnetic ammo as i can)

The Yugo 7.62x54r that Ammoman sells is great stuff. I bought 300 rounds from them a few months back and everything went great. It's really top-notch ammo.

Doubt it haha. The last time I took a Mosin out, me and a friend shot through an entire spam can (440 rounds) in the day.

Holy Crap, 440 rounds between the two of you!!!!!

I am up to about 100 rounds per range day.
Of course, I also brought two shotguns and a .22 to shoot.
(Note to self, shoot .22 first, not after, the Mosin.

I called Wolf about a year ago on how to determine if the bullets have anything in the casing other than copper - or would attract a magnet.

I was told, in no uncertain terms, they no longer manufacture copper jacketed bullets and had no plans to do so in the future. I have not seen copper jacketed Wolf in at least that long. I'd love to hear things have changed, but I'd be expecting magnetic if it's Wolf.

I wonder if you guys know the difference between steel core and steel/bimetal jacket.

As milsurp 30-06 is NOT steel core, it does attract a magnet because of the bimetal jacket. Thats what I was told anyways.
My wolf attracts a magnet as well, the yellow box stuff is alot more and hard to find. but still shoot it.

Cassius is correct, The "copper jacketed" ammo always came in the yellow with black box rather than the black box. I bought lots of that in 7.62 and in 5.45 from turners a few years back. The Wolf copper jacket 5.45 was a 70 gr.
projectile as opposed to the lighter comblock bullet, the weight of which slips my mind at this time... I distinctly remember looking for the yellow color scheme.... still have the stuff...sorry to hear it is discontinued. I dont care about the range rules... even if I shoot on my own property I dont want to start a fire, and in the dry conditions of summer I try to be extra super careful. I was gonna go out and take a pic of the box to post it, so cassius, you saved me the time and trouble.
