    Ammoman.com Warning

If you've happened to surf Ammoman.com lately, you may have noticed that they currently sell cases of Wolf .223 for $269/case.

The photo they show on the website is copper jacketed Wolf, which means that it is not magnetic. However, I received my order of Wolf last night, and it is definitely the bi-metal magnetic jacket.

Beware. If you have considered placing an order for this ammo, or already have placed an order, thinking that this ammo is not magnetic, IT IS MAGNETIC.

I have contacted them about the issue, but so far they have not answered my phonecalls and I haven't received an email yet.

Doesn't it say steel case on the box? that is what is probably attracting the magnet.

No the bullet has a bi-metal jacket, which means it is a mix of steel and copper. So it is magnetic.

Wolf has come out with an all-copper jacketed bullet. Since there is no steel in it, it is not magnetic. Wolf specifically changed the boxes to say "copper jacket" to advertise that they were non-magnetic. The picture shown that represents the ammunition by Ammoman.com says "55gr copper jacket FMJ" which means that it should not be magnetic.

However, the ammunition I received does not say "55gr copper jacket FMJ" on the box, and upon running a magnet over the bullet I found that it is indeed a bi-metal jacket and thus, magnetic.

Correct me if I am wrong but it's not steel in the bi-metal jacket but actually Tin? Thats what is causing it to be magnetic, no? The casings are steel but the bi-metal jacket are free of it (steel).

And should that happen, get ready to file a chargeback with your credit card company if you used that method.

What's the problem with it being magnetic? Besides you expecting it to be non-magnetic.
