It's a breach of etiquette to jump straight to the triple-dog-dare.

Praying for you all, I really truly am. If the AWB and roster go away, California gun buyers will singlehandedly revive the economy, reverse inflation and begin another manufacturing boom in machine shops.

Closer to 5 as this will go the the appeals, where we win, then the full 9th after the State appeals again. Here is where the 9th will stall it looking and hoping for a change in the make up of scotus.

Business as usual for the state. This is nice to hear, but it really means nothing.

I can't read thru all that ****. How does the court define an "assault weapon"?

The court made no effort to independently define an "Assault Weapon."

Putting a stay displays etiquette in the corrupt liberal 9th region.?
Many have no respect for these courts.
Don’t keep placing stays on their own rulings.
                      Start punching it out immediately

By the time it gets to SCOTUS who knows who’ll be dead and replaced by a Dem POTUS. Unless we achieve a miracle in 2024

My bet is that it is simple decorum and etiquette. Benitez obviously knows the 9th is corrupt AF. But to a large extent, that is above his pay grade. It is very customary in cases to grant stays when asked and/or when they know there is going to be an appeal.

And I get it...with the corruption of the 9th one can easily make the case that we owe them nothing and Benitez should not grant the stay. But that just sends the whole process into further decay IMO. If one side begins not granting stays then the other side will follow. And there will be future cases that don't go our way and we will want a stay to give time for our side to appeal. Not granting stays can easily work against us in the future.

This is all just a guess.

He doesn't have a "long game" for this. He's an honest man. He did a great job of explaining how the ban is unconstitutional. I'm grateful for his work. He can't control what happens at the 9th.

Amendments to the Constitution, including the 13th, are not absolute. Alleged violations need to go through established legal paths, often taking decades.
