I only buy guns from turners, not that I buy them so often, typically on sale. But they tend to have a lot in stock and as was mentioned previously, can hook you up with stock from another store. There's only so much guns we can buy in California anyway so I'm not sure what I'm missing out on. Ammo, I get delivered to my door. And accessories I buy online.

It might be more intriguing if I can find a store that doesn't charge sale's tax. If that's the case, it might be more worth it to try and find deals on that site. I've seen it before, but it seems like all the additional fees and the pain in the *** of figuring out if they can even ship to California makes it annoying but it might be worth learning since I've never done it before.

Find a small gun shop, or table top FFL that will sell to you for Turners price, or close. Make sure they release on undetermined. Be in and out both times in minutes instead of hours. Win-win.

True, true... and I'm sure it's difficult for you to do all that on your bicycle anyway.

A lot of truth in this statement. My wife would go to turners to buy me stuff but not the LGS because of what you wrote. She refused to go into one LGS, she said the owner was creepy and ogled her. Women are the new customers for the gun industry and shops need to improve their game.

What are the general price differences that you think are large? 10%, 20% over what some online price is?

In the long run paying the extra money for convenience is worth it to some people. Like another poster mentioned you know the price before you walk in rather than having to look in the lgs case with handwritten price tags that might be msrp from 2 years ago when they came in. Whats $50-$100 over the course of ownership? Im not on a fixed income so getting what I want is more important than getting the the bottom dollar price.
And the guy who will do the transfer for a 12 pack of beer, thats why he only has one location and owns a job rather than owning a business. You want good businesses to thrive? Be a good customer and leave some meat on the bone for them. I would guess that my 10% of give in life has brought back 50% in take. People like and look out for the generous guy even in business.

Personally and for our benefit here in Californistan we need gun stores.

I support my local favorite gun store and never worry about $20 bucks.

If I want something and start looking for it I?ll buy it without hesitation if Turners has one. Sure, the employees aren?t as knowledgeable than our group of gun nuts here on Cal guns but I don?t complain because we need gun stores in this anti gun wasteland.

Walmart-Dicks-B&B-several excellent gun stores are all gone.
I miss Mike in Laguna hills. Dang that guy was knowledgeable.

                  But we need Turners.

If you live in real America, I'm sure there's plenty of deals to be had and turners is your last option.
The ads they send me are for the AZ store. Maybe their AZ prices are the same as their kali prices. It's amazing they stay afloat in AZ, much less expand.

                      What?

I have never been in/out of Turners in less than ninety minutes, the longest being around 2 1/2 hours

Normal FFL's can do a DROS or pickup in 20-30 minutes... My record was 8 minutes

If time is a thing for you, then you need to reexamine your philosophy. And I agree with you about the time thing, that's one reason why I don't buy at Turners anymore.

Turners also charges a $5 warehouse fee for every gun sale, nobody else does that...

When I lived in Long Beach from 97-2000 I had a turners 5 min away. I use to fish and shoot often so was always in there. Staff on both sides were very good and knowledgeable prices were good I really didn?t go elsewhere. I got into reloading then too one of the guys helped me with questions getting started and was cool about it.

When we moved to Fullerton turners was a drive had a good local gun shop so stayed there. These days in az I have other choices but still work in ca here and there.

Won?t forget my last trip to turners during Covid in lake forest. Figured I?d check it out for reloading supplies when I get there manager at front door first question asked ?what are you going here and what do you want. I said shopping reloading supplies he asked ? what specifically I need an answer? in a raised tone. I said depends on what you have he decided to finally let me in took temp of my head as they did to everyone.

Found item I needed go to pay he rings me up was trying to be nicer now but too late. Tell him I been looking for these near home ask where I live say az he tells me about new store in Tucson even though it?s 2 hrs for me I just say no thanks I just bought my last item from you guys after your intro here.

Can?t tell how much I spent at the long beach one though I miss those type of people at that store for sure. I had full time job night manager always tried to get me to work part time as I knew firearms and fishing side.

I have an FFL that does a transfer for me for ten bucks. I've never actually bought a gun from him. I doubt I'm unique among AZ gun buyers, so shops generally try to stay at least close to online prices.

                          There it is!
I?m in Peoria seems local shops are priced pretty good on guns and ammo. Basically for me comes down to what?s in stock at the time. And how quick I can get out of there.

I went to Turners one time to inquire about a used gun their site claimed they had at my local store, a Beretta 92. Was told by the employee that they've never had one there, and then he proceeded to pull out a CZ SP01 and tell me it's the same thing as a Beretta 92 (at double the price of the used 92). I took my FSC while I was there, which took an hour and 45 minutes even though there was only 1 other customer there because the employee helping me kept walking away to chat with his buddy. Meanwhile, the guy I assume was the manager started dry firing guns in the air while hollering like Yosemite Sam. Decided that was not the place for me and never went back.

Like others have said it is tailored more towards newbies who are starting off in the gun world and want to buy their first gun. This is exactly why most people pay those absurd prices, because they don't know any better .

Turners generally has the lowest prices out of any gun shop in LA county. And they are the most reliable place to do a PPT in my experience. Most privately owned gun shops make up their own hours whenever they want to, close on random days without warning, make excuses and say they don't have any room in their safe for a PPT, etc. Turners has never turned down a walk-in PPT and they're open 7 days a week consistently.

The only place that sells glocks for less than $550 is Rifle Supply in Huntington Beach for $500. Every other privately owned gun shop I've been to sells them for $580-$680.

Turners consistently has them for $550 even on sale. Same price for years. They go on sale at least once every 3 months.

The key to turners is shopping at a non-crowded one and only buy when they have a sale.

They have such a big warehouse and inventory that they even let you hand pick serial numbers for firearms that they have in their warehouse. Ex: If your lucky number is 7, you can probably get a gun with a serial ending in 7s.

I've encountered far more wannabe cop low self esteem employees at privately owned gun shops than I ever have at Turners.
