    Turner's?

I can almost understand how a gun store like Turner's can stay in business in kali. You're used to terrible prices, especially with all the fees inflating the total price. Plus, it's a big hassle to order an online gun so they don't have to worry about competition much.

But they took over the biggest gunshop in southern AZ a year or 2 ago, and not only are they still in business, but they're opening a NEW store near Phoenix. I don't understand it. Their advertised prices are TERRIBLE. Do they give you a free handy with every purchase? What's their secret?

Likely a place for new gun owners to buy.

I think what keeps them moving is that you can usually find whatever gun you're looking for at Turners. If one location doesn't have it, not a problem. They can sell you inventory from other stores.

IMHO everything they do seems to be geared towards newbs.

There's newbs in AZ, so no doubt they will do well there.

Back in the 70's and 80's Turners used to be somewhat competitive. My go to was B&B Sales in N. Hollywood. Every once in a while Turners would beat their prices.

Now days Turners is only used by me if they have something I want and nobody else does.

I've purchased quite a few pieces over the years when they were on sale and they were the cheapest around, including online. They even gave me a discount on a couple hard to find 1911's, I just told them that nobody is going to buy them since they were so expensive, but if you bring the price down I'll buy it. (their sales people get something for every gun they sell)

they employ, normally, ignorant but pleasant people.

unlike many lgs where unfriendly misogynistic know-it-all's treat customers as if they're bothering them.

People say they're bad but at least they actually post their prices online and you know what you get. More than you can say for other stores, nah I don't want to waste my time like a boomer and poke my head in different stores throughout the week. I've bought a few guns there now.

From the fingers of babes and newbs.... if it can't be done online, it can't be done at all. FOMO without realizing they're missing out regardless - because, well - 'online'.

So the derision founded on an imaginary idea of anything other than what can be done without 'online' (real life relationships, networks of friends and tacit loyalty that lead to better deals and oportunities than what can be found 'online' or at Turdner's) couldn't possibly exist.

Nope. It must be online and you must pay that online price, and if it's not online it must not exist, must not be worthy. Sounds like shopping for the latest Taylor Swift album.

Pedestrian cookie cutter peddling will always find its sucker... online.

We understand; everyone goes through that awkward stage, green behind the ears until they learn. It's OK. You'll get it eventually.

                    YOLO for now, right?

I'm on their mailing list, so I see their prices. They're terrible. Just a guess, but AZ shops have to be more competitive because it's so easy to order from online. I have an FFL that does a transfer for me for ten bucks. I've never actually bought a gun from him. I doubt I'm unique among AZ gun buyers, so shops generally try to stay at least close to online prices.

Sure, if you insist. I've seen your posts before. You talk a lot but don't actually say much. You're not a Carlin, so relax. It's not hard to conduct good business, especially if it's something as simple as posting pricing online. Time is important and I don't have time to drive and shop around, especially in our congested southern California streets and highways where gun stores are sparsely sprinkled about every few cities. There's nothing new age, yolo, fomo, or tied specifically to the online-generation about the age old concept of time being money or that convenience is king. Of course there's deals out there, but I'm not in the mood to hunt, meander, nor babble.

I've purchased from smaller gun stores as well and actually got ripped off there rather than at a turners. I'm open to other places but my main criteria is knowing what I'm getting into. It's not a crazy ask or preference.

That's the main thing anyway, you're getting ripped off if you buy guns in California. Everything is over priced, our guns are no exception. Any online deal savings are eaten up by transfer fees, and msrp is above anything other states pay. If you live in real America, I'm sure there's plenty of deals to be had and turners is your last option.

For the most part Turners sells mediocre guns, ammo and accessories at extremely high prices with short bus service. If you're not a noob and frequent this place I'd ask what's wrong with you?

I would disagree. Find a good FFL with transfer & dros for $90 or less. A FFL which doesn't collect sales tax if wasn't paid, yes it's your responsibility to pay the taxes Shop GunDeals website search engine you can save hundreds OTD vs the most aggressive LGS.
