Neither does Palo Alto/ Menlo Park. However Campbell does. Lots of Ruger rifles and Maverick Shotguns. If anything check out Eddie’s in Mt View off Moffet you won’t be disappointed.

Big 5 stopped selling guns?

Used to get Big-5 fliers in general mail all the time - haven't seen one in years, seems to have all stopped well prior to COVID - and certainly haven't seen any deals on mil-surp rifles from them in a long while. Can't recall the last time I was in a Big-5, maybe 2017 or so, just to look around.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?Comment

Big 5 used to rock. I bought my first Ruger 10/22 at the Golden West location in Westminster, in the late 70s. $69.95 (I was late to to the 10/22 party). And it was cash and carry, no silly wait. I also recall getting their flyer when they offered a brick of .22 ammo for $5.00. K Mart too. Good times.Last edited by jayhuh; 06-21-2023, 5:32 PM.Comment

I used to buy more than guns e.g. good sales on athletic shoes, golf balls and camping gear at Big5. Only found a Dick's here and Walmart for sporting goods. Becoming more of an on-line shopper lately.Comment

Seems to be following the way of Sears, Monkey Wards, Walmart, K-Mart and others. Sad, I bought my Mossy from Big-5.Comment

Is it possible the young girl employee did not know WTF she was talking about?I just walked into big 5 in sunnyvale. They had no firearms on display. I asked the employee (young girl) if they stopped selling guns. She said yes. I asked if only this store and when. She replied with She thought it was all of california because of some new law and they stopped selling guns as of the last week or so.
Anyone here know what's going on?
Some FFLs have had to pause business due to a lag in their FFL licensure or other CA control bureaucratic BS.
"Did they stop selling guns?"
"Yes, there's a problem with licensure so we had to stop selling for now. We'll be back to normal in a week."Comment

No doubt when my sons were young they were my go to for sports equipment,
kids shoes, shirts, shorts, etc. Times have changed, you can find it all online.
Before I die I want to buy a handgun and rifle at a free state garage sale

Interesting I quit buying anything from our Big 5 because of the ammo prices and the stupid crap I’d hear from the counter people while in there. Being it is the only store in my town that sells ammo I wonder if they will stop.Comment
-
Yes. I never see anyone buying ammo when I'm in Big 5 getting my kids sports equipment.
Would rather spend a little more gas and drive a little further to Sportsman's or Scheels when a sale is onComment
