Ha funny awhile ago I paid my fee's and gave the ffl (local to me) all the info from the other ffl (I.e. serial #'s on my new to me long gun) and they took almost 28 days to get me my rifle in my paws...
They would never let anyone walk with a rifle the same day even if you paid for a dros every month... Neat idea however... I like it.Comment

I would say make sure it is perfectly clear to the ffl what you are planning on doing and that they are okay with it. California ffs sometimes make their own laws when they are trying to make sure they do everything legit (ex: 11 day waits) and I can see this not flying with some of them. Let us know how it goes. You got hosed my friend. I don't understand your logic though...shipping/delivery time has nothing to due with the 10 wait time. If your DROS is ok and your 10 days is up....then you walk with the rifle. So like I posted originaly...I am gonna start a DROS every 20 days...that way there is a overlap and no 10 day wait.

I'm not a fan of the waiting period, but anticipation makes it all the better.I am tired of buying a rifle....it shows up at my FFL's and then I have 10 (LOOONNNGGG) days of anticipation and boredom....or even 5 days if it takes that long to arrive from where ever I ordered it from, etc.
So my solution is I have decided to keep a running DROS going on with my FFL. So every 20 days (so the overlap of the new 10 days is covered) I will go start a new one....pay the fee....and at any given time I can walk in and take a rifle home.
What ya think?
Take care,StanThe way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.
