seems like a waste of money, unless you buy at least one gun on every one of them

If you buy enough guns to make it worth it, just go play with some of your other guns and wait it out. Whatever makes you happy though.

Well, it looks like you have locked yourself into at least $450 in DROS fees per year (and you still have to pay transfer fees for shipped guns on top of that, and it doesn't cover PPTs). Well, if it makes you happy to avoid the wait and you don't mind spending that extra money, more power to you and good work.

You could always just save up a lump some of money and buy 4 rifles on one DROS. that would just be 10 days instead of 40.

How is that possible? Doesn't DROS require the serial number?

That's what I was going to say. Don't you need something to DROS?

DROS only requires a serial number if it is a handgun DROS.

Heck, it might be worth $450 per year just to be known as "The Guy Who Always Has a DROS Open". I have friends who pay a lot more than $450 a year for dumber stuff than that. How many of you know people who pay $450 a year just to be known as "The Guy Who Could Go To 24 Hour Fitness Any Time He Wants, But Doesn't."

If I was your gun dealer, I would think that is a great idea!
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

might solve California's budget mess if everyone did that, but then they would just raise the "Fee" to make more money.

I think it's a great idea, I don't buy enough but have been buying a lot recently and it's definitely annoying no doubt. $450 is pretty cheap over the span of a year to not have to wait at all... $38 a month? I'm sure I spend WAY more than that a month on coffee alone.

Your FFL doesn't let you add on to your DROS before the 30 days is up? Assuming you pick all the rifles up on 1 day.

I'm going to make a few assumptions here so bare with me.

You go to the ffl order the rifle and it is confirmed it is in stock you pay for it and start the dros when you order it. Long guns don't do serial numbers on the ca doj so when it arrives part of your wait is over. In addition if before you pick up your rifle there is another one that strikes your fancy as long as your first rifle hasn't been picked up yet you should be able to take it home at the same time because you can do many long guns on one dros.

I could be wrong but you might look into that.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.
