At this time do not have to deal with over a hundred.
Found these magazine pouches $7.00 each that happen to work on my safe door.
Made them removable but clearance is tight when closed.
My safe has rifles on left and handgun shelf on right.
Keep one in firearm and a few extra next to pistols.

Made little loops out of metal clothes hangers. Print labels and used velcro with sticky backing.

    Hooks from Home Depot.
Can just screw pouch into door and not have them removable.

The ammo can with foam insert storage would be my next choice.
label the can on the outside.

Add up how much you $$ on the magazines.
Spending a little time and money to keep them rust free is worth it.

Hold on just one gosh darn minute. .40 acp?

Storage is a problem for you? Why do you need so many magazines? You think the deer are wearing kevlar or something? C'mon man!

I don't have as many guns as you but I just stack them wherever I have space in a corner or something.

Mags I don't regularly use are kept in Zip Lock bags and those are kept in plastic tubs in the safe. Mags I use every weekend (USPSA) I keep in those document/construction bags from Home Depot (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-12...0-TH/312387500). I use blue ones from Lowes too.

This is what I use for single stack mags.

I keep all mags in the safe. As you folks know all those mags add up$$

Separated by handgun / rifle mags in each respective plastic ammo box (Harbor Freight, Plano, Etc.) with a padlock on each box.

Other than that, most SHTF guns are stored around the house in condition 3.

Man, some of you guys waaaaaay over think and over complicate this.

I just take boxes that are appropriately sized for the type of magazine and quantity of said type and put them in a box. I write on the box what mags are in there and stack them on a shelf in the vault.

Some of them where I have larger quantities, like my AK47 mags I store on the floor due to weight issues.

I get all the boxes for free from things that are shipped to my house.

A few loaded mags for each gun in the safe. The rest are loaded and just thrown in together in a few ammo cans. No real organization. I know where they're all at if I need them. If I really needed to grab and go I'll do just that. They're right next to the ammo grab and go Rigid case from Home Depot. How many of you have some sort of case like that? (If you couldn't take all your ammo but needed to split quickly do you have some ready to go? Mine has a combo of range and HD ammo for each caliber, plus 12G and rifle. It's a HEAVY box though. Lol)

If you're talking about a Rigid job site box like another member linked to above, that's what I use for ammo storage. If that's what you're talking about, I'd hardly call that a "grab and go" option, especially if that box is full. There's no way anyone would be able to carry that thing out by themselves, and very unlikely two people would either without a great amount of difficulty. You're easily taking 500lbs. or more of lead depending on the size of the Rigid box, plus the weight of the box and then take into consideration the awkwardness and size of the box.

I use 1.75L plastic stackable boxes called "Really Useful Boxes" made in the UK. Sturdy, strong plastic, and they come in a million sizes. I get them from Hobby Lobby for about 5 bucks a pop. They stack really well and fit in the shelf of my safe. I have one box for each gun and /or caliber depending on how many mags. For example, one box holds about 12 CZ 75 full size mags (9 shown).

Maybe even those Milwaukee Pack Out modular tool boxes would work great.

I have been picking up old steel, 3x5? card cabinets at thrift shops. Work well and they stack.
