You should probably post more details about what occurred, etc. As this is very vague about the shop. Without knowing is it a personality conflict with you too? Did they give you wrong information, etc.

It's obvious that your upset with the shop and want to cost them business but the question I have is your issue legitimate.

Yup, OP has been a regular customer of Canyon Sports and being such and all, you would expect some civilized decorum would be in order not only for OP but for ALL customers.

Zack also is known for some racist remarks. I've read about it and I've actually seen it happen.

PS: OP, try 29 Outdoor Gear in American Canyon. Service is superb, only caveat is they don't have much stock.

When I lived there I learned to avoid them quickly because king douche. Would much rather drive over to triple a. He’s the most condescending gun store employee I’ve ever experienced.

AAA/Triple A is a great shop and the folks who work there are very customer focused. I remember back in the day when they had their old shop in a more shady area they are now in. Don't get up that way often, but ALWAYS stop by when I do. Don't know about know, but they used to have a great selection of consignments.

Shame about CS, as it is one of the coolest shops around the area inventory wise (not price wise), and not only pew pews. Great rifle selection, awesome handgun selection and anything/everything else you can imagine in a packed store. It's just too bad about some of the folks that work there. But, their shop, their attitudes.

Want more details? OK. He’s insulting on a regular basis. And I’ve been going there for years as well. He’s OK some days but the vast majority of the time he has no manners, wax. Any kind of etiquette with customers unless they’re high dollar customers, in which case he bends over and kisses their butt.
If you’re trying to bring something back to have them send out for repair under warranty or something as defective he will all but directly talk you out of it, and then he’ll spout some nonsense like “over the manufacture will never ship your firearm directly to you”. “That’s illegal, and they won’t do it”. Which complete nonsense and FUD. Yes, he has his moments where he can be OK but I’ve been going there for years too, and I just can’t do it anymore. And their prices are not that great anymore. In fact, there’s aYES, HE HAS HIS MOMENTS WHERE HE CAN BE OK BUT I’VE BEEN GOING THERE FOR YEARS TO, AND I JUST CAN’T DO IT ANYMORE. AND THEIR PRICES ARE NOT THAT GREAT ANYMORE. IN FACT, THERE’S SOME OF THE HIGHEST IN IN THE COUNTY

I was with a coworker of mine having them return a rifle he bought from them for factory work and he had no issues having them send the rifle out.
I know I'm looking like a fanboy right now. I'm also half Asian who looks south of the border and never felt the racist tones described.
I agree that their prices are criminal, have you seen the price on the primers?

I preferred TRP's old/original location next to Squeeze Inn (no longer there too) as they had the BEST cheeseburger with the skirt of cheese...OMG...delicious. Their basket of garlic fries couldn't be beat! Hamburgers and pew pews, great afternoon for sure ;-)

TRP's new location on 11th (now Elite Armory) is bigger-ish, but the retail space is kind of wasted (as compared to how effectively CS packs stuff into every foot of space). I guess they don't need to maximize retail space as their $$ maker is most likely the indoor range.

I used to go to Canyon Sports "regularly" over multiple decades. I treated them politely and they reciprocated for a long time despite many many complaints by others. Then it happened to me. About 3 years ago, I called and brought in a 625 which was binding. The owner / gunsmith said he would look at it and call me with his findings in two days. I didn't hear from him, so I called on day 3. They said he would call me back. I called on day 4 and he wasn't in. Since I was passing by 680, I said I would pick it up and bring it to my regular gunsmith. When I arrived, they were rude, chastised me for being impatient, then told me the gun was "fixed". The charge wasn't much, so I paid it and left. A few months later, after shooting a few hundred rounds, the gun started binding again. Not only were they rude (typical), they installed the wrong part (hammer hand pin).
I am fortunate enough to be able to afford whatever I need or want to continue enjoying this expensive hobby. Canyon Sports is also the closest LGS to me. Their selection is good. They support Richmond Rod & Gun, of which I am a member. However, I will never set foot in there again. Perhaps their inventory is good because others avoid the habitually rude staff? Either way, good luck to them.
