Thermidorian Reaction . . Prepare for it.We know they are lying, they know they are lying, they know we know they are lying, we know they know we know they are lying, but they are still lying. ~ Solzhenitsyn -
Also wanted to comment; some FFLs want additional documents. Some will accept the RealID drivers license and my CCW permit with matching addresses to purchase a handgun. I have had another FFL want vehicle registration along with the two previously mentioned IDs. Without the ReadID, a passport or birth certificate is required for firearms. Matching names and addresses on IDs is also needed for ammo. Moving or name differences cause problems as well.
It really is a ***** show with all of the different interpretations out there. I understand the FFL just want to be certain in case of an audit by DOJ, but what a pain.USN 1982-1989 / ARNG 1999 - 2001

I've had a REAL ID since it was first available in Cali, but have since moved 2 - 3 times. My DROS address didn't match up with my REAL ID; but I never had an issue with just bringing in an additional proof of residency along with my FSC. No counter guy gave me flack for using a vehicle reg/utility bill with my DROS address.Comment

I completely agree with the additional requirements when one moves. I have not moved for 20+ years and got the RealID when it first came out. My CCW permit also has the same address as my CDL. However, those two were not enough for a PPT as they also wanted my vehicle registration. I had to reschedule the PPT because I cut the street address out of my vehicle registration (in case my car is stolen and the want to visit my home too). A photo on my phone would not work either.
Only had one FFL request the additional document as I have purchased and performed PPTs elsewhere with just my CDL and CCW permit over the past couple of years.
Again, just different requirements from one FFL to another much like all the screwy law interpretations throughout CA.USN 1982-1989 / ARNG 1999 - 2001

I would rather carry an extra card and pay the extra $20 bucks to get a passport card than get a CA RealID compliant drivers license.Calguns.net, where everyone responding to your post is a Navy Force Delta Recon 6 Sniperator.Comment

It's not a matter of "not letting them know something".

it is very reasonable because they started giving driver's license to everyoneComment
