Let us know when you get back, we all want to hear about your local cop pull you over story.

Drive a nice car/truck/SUV, you're a target from both the wanna be cartels and local Mexico cops. Don't ask me how I know this!

We go to Mexico rarely and when we do we walk across.

Once you get to your American hotel all is good and you can put your panic attack's on hold!

There is an FFL/indoor range here in Santa Clara (reeds). They rent lockers. Usually by the month.

Maybe check the indoor ranges down in SD and rent a locker for a month. IIRC, the fees are fairly low.

      Good luck!!!

And have fun down south o d border…don’t drink the water!
      Sorry, not sorry.

As asked for, an update, the travel plans went to crap, Friday our pup went in for emergency surgery for a blockage, VET DR, suggested to have him fixed while he was under. He has 3 week recovery time, wife stayed home, I canceled all fancy reservation, resort, dinners and Coronado trip, dropped to a 13 hour stay in SD, picked up brother as airport, crossed, with no issues, our stay was with out issue. Our return trip will be 19 hour stay in SD, drop off at airport by 9am, then head home, only stopping once for fuel and maybe a few times to work the legs for some range of motion. Those of you who felt i said low IQ, sorry, I meant dumb, just kidding, I could have been direct in a what i was looking for. I did get some awesome suggestions, two of which i never knew was even an existing option.

I believe discount gunmart in San Diego had something about firearm storage on their website, not entirely too sure.

Posts #9 and #19 covered this.

Cross it over, nothing money can’t fix on the other side of the border.

It was a question not a dilemma, CG’s should be a place where discussions and questions can be had without imposing your opinion or targeting the OP. A place where ideas and knowledge can be shared. As I stated before, I learned two new options that were unknown to me. Thank you again to those who provided insight into an answer to my original question.

You coulda tried what I did a few years ago on my way into Canada and stash the pistol under a bridge a few miles from the border.

Two weeks later I returned to find it on the ground, removed from the spot I had wedged it, next to a huge pile of bear scat. I guess bear was curious about the unusual smell in his domain and dug it out to investigate.
