How would you use these tools?

So one of the manufacturers I'm working with has sent me some samples of other tools that they make. I'm just not sure what they are for and how one would use them.

The SS tool they list as a "Glock disassembly tool". I'm guessing that it's not to help you take the slide assembly off.

The black tool they list as a "Sig 3mm punch". The tip of the punch is a little bit concaved.

Any information about these would be appreciated.

Those are pin punches, for driving out roll pins, dowel pins, etc. You use them with a hammer.

I understand that. But since they are specific to two brands I figure they have a specific use for each tool. ie, they are not generic punches.

A regular punch set does everything those two do and for less money. The Glock tool is for disassembling mags and punching out the frame pins. The Sig tool is for removing and reinstalling the roll pins on the slide.

A Glock can be totally dissasemble, frame and slide, with just a 3/32" punch. The Factory Glock one is like $4 and works perfectly. It looks like you got one someone is just making an aftermarket Glock tool. You never hit a Glock punch with a hammer, nothing needs to be hammered on a Glock. Your doing it wrong if you need a hammer.

Roll pin punch usually has a raised pin in the center. The concave tip is for domed end straight pins.

You can (with care) use them interchangeably as long as the pins aren't seized.

A decent set of either type will run you about 10-15 bucks and cover about any pin you need to drive out.

Note that any tool that has "gun" in the name will have a 25 - 50% markup presumably because it costs so much to stamp that on there. Used to be you could get a full "Chapman Screwdriver Set" (drivers and bits) for $45; or you could get the same set marked "Chapman Gun Screwdriver Set" (with a different color leatherette finish) for $60.
