Yes. The hard part will be finding a CA dealer willing to do this kind of transfer on this kind of pistol.

Im in AZ and bought a couple stripped lowers recently and built them into pistols first.My dros does not say pistol or rifle though.Think it was listed as other.

One is complete the other has lower parts kit and buffer since i took the parts from it to build on my fde aero lower.Did this for future reasons build pistol first so i can turn it back if i choose.

I was wondering how this would work for CA if i choose to gift it to my mother i know i have to make it compliant which is no biggie.Just wondering how they would dros it in ca.

You are now in AZ you DID NOT do a DROS on the lowers you bought in AZ. The DROS process is strictly a CA thing.

All you did in AZ was fill out a 4473 and you would be correct in that they were listed as an "other" on the 4473. A stripped lower is a Title 1 Other. You are free to build a pistol or rifle out of a Title 1 Other in AZ and probably most other states in the union.

They are whatever your local DA says they are.
