AR Pistol Lowers?

Not sure it makes a difference. If it is ever sold or investigated it needs to be marked semi pistol in the paperwork. I have a lower that says M4 Government use only or something. Correct me if I'm wrong. -
Markings don't really matter, it's how it was created and sold/registered that matters. I could take one of my AR rifles and have the receiver engraved "pistol',
but legally, that is meaningless as it's not a pistol.NRA Certified Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor, Shotgun Instructor and Range Safety Officer

Is it true that the only legal way to acquire an AR Pistol today in California is to DROS a Franklin Arms CA-7 or PPT a used pistol registered AR lower or AR pistol firearm?
There is no other currently legal path in California to acquire an AR pistol unless you are exempt, correct? Because of the roster, there are no dimensionally compliant semi-automatic lowers or semi automatic AR pistols on the roster. The CA-7 is a bolt action pistol so it is exempt, correct?
I've tried following this for a while and it does seem bit confusing.NRA Certified Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor, Shotgun Instructor and Range Safety Officer

Not everyone here read that info.
I'm guessing you are talking about one you bought in NV?
If so, just build a pistol on it and enjoy. I probably wouldn't build a rifle on it as it may confuse LEO's and is not worth trying to explain it to them.Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Always build it first into a pistol. Then build it into a rifle or SBR once you have the stamp. That way it is legal to revert back to a pistol.
Now, this guy reads his posts carefully.
In NV I wouldn't worry about it even if it says "pistol", unless it is built into a SBR and you don't have the stamp.sigpic

You can also dros a single shot exempt pistol that’s put together by an ffl07Is it true that the only legal way to acquire an AR Pistol today in California is to DROS a Franklin Arms CA-7 or PPT a used pistol registered AR lower or AR pistol firearm?

”forum consensus” seems to be that ppt a pistol registered lower that’s dros as semi auto handgun is a bit more certain since there is speculation gov will try to jam you up on “manufacturing unsafe handgun” charge if you convert a single shot exempt or bolt action repeater (ca7) to semi auto, since there is no test case for that yet
AW rules still apply too, so maglock with 10rd mags if it’s semi autoComment

Since it is for his direct grandkids can't he just do an intrafamilial transfer through a FFL once each pistol has the CA compliance component taken care ofLink for feedback -
