A few thoughts about Icarus Precision grip

For everyone who may get interested in the Icarus Precision grips, here are my thoughts.

It is a great grip for Sig P365, in terms of the weight and shape.

However, the gaps between grip and slide, and between grip and magazine plate, are a little bigger than my expectation.

My grip model is the P365 ACE hybrid.

Thank you guys for your comments!

The magazine is OEM. The slide is True Precesion. I tried OEM slide and Zev slide, the gaps are the same.

I'd be sending that back. I expect more of a $300 grip frame.

          Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Some updates. I wrote to Icarus Precisions. They replied with below explanations.

The gaps around the mag base is unfortunately normal. Reason is that early on there were a lot of other aftermarket mag bases on the market that were not consistent.

And we were always fighting bases having interference when seating the mag. So the easiest solution was to give it enough room to fit everything we could find on the market.

A bit of the same issue with the gap on the dust cover.

There are some, a few not to many, FCU’s that actually sit a bit crooked in the grip modules. Even the OEM polymer. Which causes the slide to rub on the dust cover. Not a big deal in polymer because the plastic is much slicker than aluminum, and plastic is the same color all the way through.

But as you can imagine it’s a big problem in aluminum. The drag will cause all kinds of cycling issues and wear. So again the best way to make this a non issue across all the FCU’s out there was to make more space between the slide and the dust cover.

It’s kinda the blessing and curse of the truly modular platforms. The FCU has a tolerance like any part. And unfortunately we have seen some truly shocking variations in FCU’s. But we have to try and make it work in all the photo combinations out there.

I am thinking the same. They will charge 25% restocking fee, if it is in new condition, and is deemed eligible for return, according to their return policy.

I have the x elite ACE grip module for my p365x and don't have slide-to-grip fitment issues. I have a zev octane slide. I DO, however, have grip-to-base plate gaps as seen in your pics. I have the B-ACE plates.

One thing I do wish is that they would change their product naming system. :/

That's BS. I just looked again at their website and the ones they are showing have a much smaller gap. Their comment is typical CYA.

                          Return it

The gap underneath the slide makes the gun look funny.

Typical click bait, you have to buy their product before getting the exercises!!

Thanks for the info, Marine. I was starting to ponder buying after seeing the multiple ads posted in our forums. Now I'm not so sure..
