Started the suppressor process

Suppressor party! I did my suppessor buys in batches to save me the waits on single purchases.

I was tempted to but I have to see what barrels that I want to get threaded before I ordered anymore suppressors.

I probably won't thread any of my Ruger single shot rifles or any of my match guns. I can't do my 458 Win mag or the 375 H&H Mag because they have banded front sights so they can't be threaded.

One of my AR15s already has a threaded barrel I can probably use it for longer range pest control. I guess I'll have to get an adjustable gas block since the suppressor will screw with the gas pressure.

I may pull the 7 Mag barrel off my stainless Ruger 77 MkII and convert it to another cartridge since the 7 has never been a favorite of mine.

I've been to busy travelling until that last week or so and I'm driving out on Monday morning with most of the guns and all the stuff that the movers won't touch.

I never got the whole suppressor thing until the bulb came on over my head and I realized how well they would work for hunting...

I have ground hogs, rabbits, skunks and squirrels on my property that I've already seen. Wifezilla wants a chicken coop which means every other predator is going to show up. Not to mention the previous owner was an avid whitetail hunter and has some food plots already planted as well as having seen a bear and a bunch of coyotes on the property.

The land on the northwest border of my property is owned by my neighbor Mel who doesn't hunt but he's already told me that I can shoot any predators on his 106 acres at any time.

The suppressor and Pulsar thermal scope are going to be my main farm tools.

You can often get a gunsmith to do almost anything for enough money.

The SilencerCo 46 Hybrid is fairly cheap as cans go.

Try it first. It might feel "overgassed" but it will still work. If you feel like you need to mess with the gas, you can also get an adjustable bolt carrier. They cost a little more but you can move it from gun to gun.

I have several 5.56 AR's that I run suppressed and so far I see no real change in the recoil pulse on them. They do seem to get dirtier due to the DI system pushing a bit more gas back into the chamber area though.

I did do an adjustable gas block on my suppressed 6.5 Grendel build, but that was because I needed to do a low profile block anyway and it was worth the extra money to get one I could tune to the rifle. The noise signature is much like a .22LR shot out of a 10-22.

Oh man, that's a dream home!

Yep, I'm stoked! I effectively have about 170 acres to shoot on. Mel has had issues with feral cats killing his chickens and has hinted to me that he wants them gone.

All my land is surrounded by farm land so I'm going to volunteer to help my other neighbors out with vermin control as I get to know them.

They'll figure it out. They'll go towards the sound of gunfire. Yes, even with a silencer, rifles are loud. You'll need ear pro.

Congrats on the suppressor purchase and good luck on the wait. Hopefully the process starts to speed up instead of slowing down, like it's doing now.

My first suppressor purchase was submitted on March 4. I'm on day 147 and still waiting.

Just got a call this morning for another suppressor stamp. Paper form 4.
407 days door to door. Longest wait yet.
My others were in the 380 day range.
