Some people have lost their .....

I know people are free to ask what ever they want. And, I know that people are free to pay what ever they want. But, it has just got stupid. There's someone asking $1500 for a Sig FCU. Nothing else, just the FCU. Sure it's the smaller pretty gold colored one, but really?

I hope it just sits there.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Single, never married guys, retiring on a great pension and a paid off mortgage, selling and moving to the desert, saving tons during their career, can buy whatever at any price.
      Had several coworkers like that.

It's not the sellers that are insane but the buyers.

At the end of the day it really boils down to what your time is worth and how much you want it. For some time is more precious and money is not a problem.

I caught flak for mentioning something posted in the marketplace was available new and California compliant online for 4K less than the used price someone posted. But yes it can be interesting what you see.

Hey, if it makes you feel any better I've got two just sitting in my parts bin. I'll let one go for $1200.

One went pretty quick for $1k this week, I was surprised. Wish I had a drawer full of them...

I know that I got a super deal on my large small FCU with all the parts; except magazines, but I only paid $750 for mine. I just couldn't imagine paying that much for just an FCU.

But I get why someone would. I just think it's crazy.

Well that's true. If people didn't pay stupid money people wouldn't ask stupid money.

You can't take your money with you. Some people believe or have the desire to make life for the next generation (read heirs) better though money; plenty of times it does nothing of the sort.

Then there are those who during younger years saved their money, invested and secured their financial well-being to the point they really don't care much about what something costs. Maybe they didn't buy that wonderful new Walther P88 or HK P7 that they really wanted some time ago. They could have bought it but instead of spending $1250 for one they invested that money which has grown exponentially. The $1250 is now $125,000, maybe a lot more. Do you think they care if that unfired same as new P88 or P7 is now $7000? They don't care and now they have way over $100,000 left over and can still give it away later.

Who came out ahead, the person who never shot the P88 or P7 but paid a grand for them or the one who has it now who can not only shoot it but also afford to buy factory ammo and never even think about the cost?

I'd say the people that say those who are willing to pay high prices are the reason for high prices probably didn't manage their money so that they could get what they want. Maybe that isn't true but then I was never one not to fill up the tank for my truck regardless of the cost because someone else couldn't afford to fill up their Yugo either.

                        .

I bet I'm not the only one in this thread that had to google "Sig FCU" because I had no clue WTH we were talking about!

Now having said that, I don't care how much somebody wants to pay for a gun, barrel, slide, frame, etc. Their money their property!

Plus given the fact on how insane this crazy world is getting, I would be more concerned about availability than price.
