Are you around the Bay Area? If so, which dealer releases on Undetermined?I applied on Nov14 and was delayed. Dealer would not release on undetermined which ended up happening on Dec 14th. So Dec15 I purchased at a different dealer recieved call I was delayed again. Luckily I knew this time to go to a dealer the releases on undetermined. So I told the shop I'll see you on Jan 14th. Stupid DOJ. Oh I purchased last gun in Aug with no issues. I've already done the lifescan apparently that didn't help wasted $70Leave a comment:

This all really started to become a regular thing when covid hit. Covid hasnt been the reason for the massive uptick in firearms sales for almost two years . Democrat politicians promises of gun bans and ATF over reach have.
One would think that the people at the doj were aware that every time those claims are made sales go up . Wouldn't a system that is so "important " and provides such a "vital service" be adjusted to handle the flow when such statements are made? No . Because that system is there to stall and stifle your purchase by design. And most likely will never operate in a manner that benefits the purchaser or respects their constitutional right.Leave a comment:

Between July and November, someone at DOJ actually did their job and completed your background check that you began in July.Yes DOJ shenanigans I get a delay that turned into an undetermined in July the FFL would not release to Firearm and gave me a refund less the DOJ fees. So I go to a different FFL in Nov that will release on an undetermined but after the 10-day wait, they released the firearm to me no delay no undetermined nothing just a regular transaction like it should be so go figure..
That's why the November one went through without any issues.Leave a comment:

Sounds like DOJ is up to some new bs after the most recent lawsuit. I checked in yesterday on my MR556A1, clerk said he's been seeing alot more unexplained delays and undetermined in the last few months. One of the guys behind the counter said he's got both a COE and a CCW, and was/still is delayed on his most recent purchase. Dafuq?Leave a comment:

Backlogged? How can they be Back logged ? Everything is run by computer . It's what part of the dros fee is supposed to pay for . Matter of fact if I recall, the doj was supposed to update and modernize the system with the last dros price increase. I am pretty sure the doj has plenty of personnel to do the job. And covid is not a thing anymore.Your car registration has nothing to do with it unless you used that as proof of residency.
Do NOT start any new DROS until the old one is cleared up.
Having a previous delayed DROS without it getting cleared will automatically get you another delay so you are literally just giving the state money for nothing.
Let the process finish on the first delay before you start any new DROS.
As part of the delay, they are going to run a more thorough background check on you and eventually clear you but they are a few months backlogged on that process, so your least expensive option is to just wait for it to clear on it's own.
SO in reality there is no excuse for this tactic of being made to wait in hopes of making you give up or not buy another one because of the hassle. It is well known that ffls often get multiple undetermined/release numbers at a time. It is also been reported that the majority of the individuals that have received the undetermined /release numbers never had a check perfomed at all. Reason being that nobody got around to do the actual check. So the delay is automatic . undetermined is automatic, and the release numbers are automatic but require a ive person to repeat them to the ffl .
It's nothing but a manipulation of the system we were told WOULD NOT BE USED TO IMPEDE OUR RIGHTS. A SYSTEM WE HAVE AND ARE STILL PAYING FOR. A SYSTEM THAT IS BEING FUNDED BY US TO BE USED AGAINST USLast edited by Deelayed; 12-19-2022, 6:08 PM.Leave a comment:

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I'll be going to the shop today to discuss with them and see how long they can hold the MR for me in the meantime. I still have about 12 days to go before the DROS that triggered the delay letter hits 30 days. Guess I'll go get the Livescan done.Your car registration has nothing to do with it unless you used that as proof of residency.

Your car registration has nothing to do with it unless you used that as proof of residency.I'm supposed to start DROS on an MR556 today since my 30 days is up at 5PM so I'm a little nervous.
The dealer with the delayed transfer suggested I try to DROS the MR anyway.
Is it possible to get delayed for car registration that's a few weeks overdue?
Registration was due on 11/22 but I paid it yesterday.
The FFL had never heard of a delay due to overdue registration, but this is California after all...I'm not really sure what to do at this point except wait.

They have a policy to not release on undetermined so I may have to re-DROS. If I do, I'll do the Livescan. The shop with the MR will release if you're not a first time customer; I'm not so I should be good there. I'm moving to Tucson soon, hopefully this is the last time I have to deal with this BS.Leave a comment:

If the delay turns undetermined will your FFL release it to you If not I would find a FFL that will release it on an Undetermined that's what I did, also I have Live scan that I'm waiting to hear back but they have been giving me the run around since July 29th.I'm dealing with this now. I've bought 40+ guns since 2013, never had a single delay or problem until I bought a consigned AR on the 2nd of this month, got a delay letter dated 12/8 on 12/17. Went to the store yesterday and it's still delayed, it'll be 30 days on 1/1 so there is still some time for it to change, not hopeful though. I printed out the forms for Livescan in case I need to go do that, but my understanding is that's not really necessary unless you get a denial.

I go to Counter-Strike about 6 miles away and they will release none of this nonsense of not releasing undetermined.Leave a comment:
