Just a rant....

Here is the back story on how she came to live with us. My wife and i live in Antioch for a year or 2 when we got married. I had a nice 4 bedroom house with 2 room mates that were my best friends, awesome living conditions for us. Well, Antioch started getting a little ghetto, in the terms of the wrong people moving into town and my neighborhood. My wife moved in, we got married, and shortly after that she got pregnant. The thought of raising our son in that area of town was not an option, so we were looking to move closer to the bay area since she commuted to San Ramon. Her mom was in a bind with her house and the thought of her moving in with us was a great idea, financially for all parties. I was against it from the get go, but, my wife had just got laid off due to the economy and renting on our own was not an option. So we found a house for all of us to rent and move into.

So I/we were kind of forced into the situation, we didnt want to live in our car so it kind of worked out, and i say kind of. I dont know how long this living situation will last, im sure if this BS continues, its going to force me to pull up the stakes and move out and leave the MIL on her own. Right now im in the long process of getting hired on with the CDCR as a Corrections Officer, the pay is great, my wife wouldn't have to work full time, and it would be enough to buy a house. With no room for mother in-laws.

Your last few sentences are the best reason to LOCK EVERY FIREARM YOU OWN UP. Just imagine if your MIL or other nosy relative or one of their friends ,whom I'm sure she has talked to about this were to drop a dime on the CDCR and tell them one of their potential new hires was in violation of the law because he leaves loaded guns around minors.

You guessed it bye bye job. Even if it's not true. Some agency's will not be willing to take the risk. It would be easier for them to simply go to the next candidate.

Think in the long term.

LOCK them ALL up. Tell her they are locked PERIOD and do it. No "locked room" put them all away. Later when you are on your own you can do as you wish. But until you are off probation and away from her do yourself a favor.

LOCK THEM UP PERIOD.

Is it worth possibly loosing a potential good job over???

This is not a matter of being "right" it's a matter of being smart!!

This is true.
Everyone left to visit family out of state this morning, so im sitting at home with the dog, im going to put a gun in every room while i am home, lol.
