What to do, shop won't reply.

Hi fellow calgunners, this is my first time ever running into a situation like this and am not sure what I can do at this point. I'm running out of ideas and patience so I'm seeking some suggestions. My dilemma is I paid for a cerakote job from a local shop since Feb of 2021 for some AR15 parts. Til now I have not recvd my parts (I was originally given the time frame of 12 weeks to complete when purchased). Since May 2021 I've emailed, called, made way to shop, but unsuccessful every time. Last attempt I made way again to shop at the end of Aug 2021, the owner happened to be there and informed me my parts were not complete due to his mother had passed so he had fallen behind and to return the following day for pick up. I return following day and the day after for pick up, but owner was never there neither days. I dropped by shop again a month later Oct 2021, still owner isn't there. At this point I just want my parts back whether complete or not. I feel like the owner is just ghosting me and giving me the run arounds. The parts may not even be there anymore. I feel frustrated! What would be the best way to handle this?

Out the shop.

If they are reputable and others have had good experiences, maybe they just majorly missed the mark on your experience with them, unfortunately.

If they've pulled this stunt on others, that will come to light as well.

I would never leave parts with someone who says it will take 12 weeks unless it was a very complex job with some AAA "best in class" ace. You are most definitely getting a run around. 9 months??? I highly doubt you are going to get your parts back without applying more pressure. I'd demand them in writing with a short deadline, then take him to small claims.

I saw they do excellent cerakote work, it didn't cross my mind that I would ever be in this situation with a company that does awesome work. I'll look more into small claims, thank you.

There’s more reputable shops in OC that have a fast turnaround.

Sucks they haven’t done the work but at this point, get the parts back and go elsewhere. Consider it a $375 lesson.

Yes a brand new serialized Stripped Lower, stripped upper and handguard.

The problem is that I can't even get in touch with shop/owner. I've called, text, emailed, even personally drop by shop. There's no one there at the shop ever.

Oh man, that sucks. If there’s a “next time”, try Armstrong Arms in Laguna Hills (a quarter mile away from Republic Rifle). Not sure how they compare price-wise, but they’ve done good work for me in a timely manner.

Every Cerakote job I have ever had done, was done in the same day.
