I just purchased a stripped lower last Sunday and got a call from the FFL that DOJ has put a delay on Dros. He said this is becoming more frequent. I have bought two different firearms and ammo since July with no issues. The only thing different is the FFL. Thoughts?

Dros Delay after two purchases since July

Probably nothing. Business is picking back up and doj may be getting behind again. We have had a number of delays recently also and almost all clear up around day 10 to 15

UPDATE: RG says they WILL release on 'undetermined status', also they believe the increase in DROS delays is most likely a result in increased sales.Comment

Good news indeed, in the future if dealing with a different FFL, ALWAYS ask about "undetermined status". FIRST.
RG has an excellent reputation here on CG. If they were turds, CG would know.
As does, I might add, member "waygeekierthanu" from 2Azone, who was the first responder to your post.Comment

Same situation happened to me just before the pre-chinese virus kicked in. Clean record, CCW holder, recent government regulated ammo and pistol purchases, etc. Never heard of the "delay or undetermined" thing, luckily my FFL does release on undetermined as it went the full thirty days. All that over an old .22 lever action rifle.Comment

UPDATE: DROS 10 days was originally supposed to finish today, 4 days in and delayed. Got call today...wait for it... APPROVED. RG says DOJ is understaffed and to expect this to get worse. Good luck to those who are still waiting. The best knowledge I acquired from this, is only deal with FFLs that will deliver on 'undetermined' status.Comment
