SHTF optic: Red dot or LPVO?

For a temporary SHTF situation lasting a few weeks or months, where a person might have to hide out or bug out for awhile, what do you think is best to have on your SHTF rifle? Let's say you have back up iron sights. Would you choose a red dot or an LPVO for your primary optic? This is a temporary situation like an invasion or natural disaster, not the permanent collapse of civilization. Thoughts?

Lpvo, with etched glass is hard to beat. Works if the batteries are dead.

lvpo. not quite as fast maybe, but more range if needed.

LPVO 1000%. Not just for shooting but for target id.

Im starting to think both is needed . LPVO with the offset RDS and a Close up Rds / Holo .

^nah, you don’t want to carry extra ****. As someone who does a crap load of hiking (hunting) around with a AR i have some opinions. Lighter is better.
The less stuff to to snag or dig into your back the better. Carry a gun with a bunch of extras like a bipod, side mount red dot and that crap is really uncomfortable. You’ll likely toss it into the bushes by mile 10.

No iron sights though because they aren't in style.

Yup, I'd take an acog+rmr before an LPVO for SHTF.

But I find myself keep coming back to a fixed front sight+red dot+folding rear sight, and a qd 3x magnifier.

LPVO is all you need. Red dot is very limited

You could get a FFP illuminated LPVO and use it as a basic red dot on 1x and have the option for up to 6x-8x if needed.

iron sights...no batteries and absolute reliability.

I keep things in my bug out bag, extremely simple, if it requires batteries or is fragile, I really try to avoid it
