    Ammo Storage Rules

With this "new" ammo background check rule, is there also now an ammo storage rule/requirement like it is with firearms to be locked in a safe if you have a minor in the home?

I'm sure if we give it some time, they will pass a law that makes you store ammo in a DOJ approved stainless steel container, in a hole dug to 15ft below the ground. Any hole found, dug less than 15ft would be a misdemeanor.

            Even if so, who cares?

And who would actually follow such a law? Sister Monkey Handspank from the local archdiocese?

more likely all gun parts will have to be stored as if they were guns.

At some point, the restrictions will become so overbearing and complex that people will stop even trying to comply.

I do. I just want to follow the law/rules no matter how stupid they might be.

So the consensus is for now there is not requirement to lock up our many thousands of rounds of ammo even if we have minor in the house?

                      Thanks all.

                        No, not yet.

Like most, I started early with my kids, teaching them how to shoot and gun safety. Now it's time to start with the grandkids.

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I do too teach them. Now my youngest son is only 15 and I have no less than 20k of ammo in my garage. I would hate to have to buy lockers to store all of them. It is bad enough I have a huge Liberty safe in the garage and one in the bedroom. The wife does not appreciate the stuff I have.

I just wanted to make sure there is no storage law for ammo.
