The system is a little more complex than it needs to be.

Regarding sellers who cancel the deal after agreeing...this happens to me more and more often. But they have told me before I make the drive, so I have never left feedback. I think, in most cases, they were offered more money.

Sellers have lives too, they need to sell shyt fast to fund next project or fulfill needs.

yep, if you say you want it, you better be able to follow through by the end of the week, I'm only selling stuff I want gone and cash back out of.

One time a seller was running about 30 minutes late for our appointment, guy payed for my DROS fees unprompted, he was a good dude. time is money.

I usually give it a day. They either want it or don't.

Many have done the same to me, too., so not exclusive.

Yea, makes sense. crap or get off the pot! I am usually a little lenient on when the meet up is so I can accommodate my work schedule.

I'll give OP one chance to explain why (according to the buyer) op continues to bump the thread after agreement was made? and I don't believe it was a multiple guns ad.

Many on Calguns does this, just like CL. Continue to take offers even after an agreement was made. Wether its more money or shorter drive or better time slot. Its cherry picking, lets see what i can get further to my advantage after the initial agreement cause the initial will still be there right? Spineless!

I seriously let this go for what, half a day? And all you guys do is continue to say more and more demoralizing things?

                        Jesus, how toxic is that.

What happened? I posted my pistol for sale. Potential buyer reached out to me.

I sent my phone number to contact me directly (yes, because I check my texts and not a website inbox with more regularity). Potential buyer contacts me and I save the number associated with that ORIGINAL TEXT STRING to my contacts with the first name of the buyer.

I was slightly apprehensive once potential buyer No.1 asked if I would take zelle as a means of payment, but it was decided cash was the method to use.

Potential Buyer No.2 reached out to me, I informed that person that the first person had contacted me and agreed to meet. I said I would keep potential buyer No.2 in line as a backup.

I reached out to potential buyer No.1 (using the same information that was used to contact me via text message) the day before the meeting, asking to confirm if we were still on to meet. I waited until 5:30pm with no reply before reaching back out to potential buyer No.2 to inform him no reply had been received and I would be willing to arrange a meeting.

Potential buyer No.2 telephoned me (yes, phone call not text) to confirm verbally that he would be willing to meet first thing in the morning and would have cash in hand. We meet, deal works out just fine and we move on with life.

Hours go by and I receive a random message from an unknown number asking if we were still a go. Not knowing who this was, I had dug around messages to figure out it was Potential buyer No.1 not using the same number which I saved in my contacts.

I informed potential buyer No.1 that I reached out the day before and received no reply when asking for confirmation, and that I moved on to my backup buyer. Potential buyer No.1 questioned what I was talking about as he hadn’t received any messages (although I had sent nearly 15 messages and attempted to call).

After that, the negative feedback was left and this forum was queried asking how to prevent or repeal that action.

This is what transpired, all the information in the order in which events occurred.

Am I perfect? No, I am not. But if I am trying to sell something it’s first come first served. If you change your number and don’t pick up or reply when working out a meeting for an item (be it a car, gun or a pack of toilet paper) you should reply and stay on top of your messages if confirmation is asked. Or loose the deal.

Oh I’ve been watching for all three days smart ***. I’ve just decided to post this evening.

I try to keep it civil. But the toxic replies, I even try and lay details out and you sh*t on that. GTFO your high horse and check yourself.

man, I've done 30+ transactions on here and at least 50 transactions on craigslist. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I've met some real decent people, even on Craigslist!

Same, guy I sold one of our spare TVs to years ago has been a family friend ever since.

I also got robbed selling my wife’s laptop on offer-up in July. Broke my clavicle in the scuffle.

So I’ve seen it all using these online marketplaces now.
