Yes only Buyer pays BG check and whatever ammo transfer fee the FFL charges (ranges from $5-20 here in Southern California).

I vote on transporting it to wherever you are moving to if you have "thousands of dollars of ammo".

I think you can walk into a gun store and surrender it, and you can bring someone with you that can do the bg check for $1 and then walk out with it.

500 rounds per month limit includes "tranfers".

Once you move, go ahead and sell some, if you need to.

I exceed the speed limit as well. I've even driven without carrying my drivers license intentionally while working on my truck. And had a garage sale without getting a permit from the city.

Sell me some. I have an FFL03 and COE. I don't think we need to jump thru all those hoops.

Take a trip over the border to Nevada. Go to nevadashooters.com.

Go to a Nevada or AZ gun show and sell it in the parking lot. You'll sell it all in an hour.

I can only sell 500 rounds/month and it has to go through an FFL, which includes all sorts of fees, background checks, and I have to physically drive to an FFL and make an appointment? WTF. What's my other option? Destroy/turn over my ammo to police and lose thousands of dollars?
Sell it to someone with a C&R and COE. That way there's no need to drive to a dealer to do a transfer or pay any fees.
                            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I just don't have room to store it all at my new place (apartment). And I'm not gonna be able to shoot it all just for the hell of it lol. It'll burn out my barrel long before I make a dent.

Ok, so I can sell to someone with an 03FFL/COE/C&R? But the 500-round limit still applies? I don't wanna get in trouble by selling more than the legal limit to someone who isn't who they say they are.
