There are a lot of newer firearm owners that are just getting into the game, be it self protection or just because. Us older folks can "get by", as "we have been there and done that".

Hopefully they don't get discouraged and just shelve there new acquisitions and ride it out.

X39 is now down to 35 cpr. I have noticed 5.56 at 55 cpr this week lasting for hours.

As far as stocking up, remember some people were not of age to buy ammo during the Trump era. They did not have the option to stock up.

I have a very good stockpile and would consider selling some but the hassle is not worth the small amount I can sell. It was all a part of the plan.

I was just looking on-line, saw brass 9MM for 45 CPR new, steel 9MM for 36 CPR, steel 223 for under 50 CPR. This seems like a decent drop from a week ago. Hope the trend continues.

I messed up on not hoarding hunting ammo. Who would of thought .17hmr and tungsten turkey rounds would be hard to find. I had all the regular 5.56, 9mm and 7.62x39 stacked deep.

Being realistic, I keep enough ammo readily on hand that I feel I might need in a SHTF scenario. For me that is not a zombie apocalypse it's a natural disaster or other emergency where others may not have resources or a social disorder when people are looting, etc. So maybe an initial need to defend and an ongoing situation. But really if were talking a need for thousands of rounds for every gun, well I would either be arrested, starved out or dead before that much ammo could be utilized.

I have at least 500+ rounds for everything I would use for defense and more than that for the go bag and a common defense rifle and pistol. Beyond that I have reloading supplies. So not really a prepper, but prepared. Unless, like I said a Walking Dead situation does happen

As far as buying ammo at these prices, a hard no. Finding yourself with nothing in today's times means you've had your head under a rock or didn't take the decades old situation of being stripped of your rights seriously. And, if in the very unlikely situation that things never go back to normal and guns become unacceptable there will be no target shooting, no hunting, no sport shooting and the actual need for ammo would only be SD.

SG Ammo had bass 9mm today for under 50 cents. I know that doesn't help you guys much but I use them as a bellwether to what's going on. They've also had some hunting ammo getting back down closer to a dollar lately and even Remington Core-Lokt is back under $2 when stuff like .30-06 was going for $4 just a month or two ago.

Brass case Lake city 5.56 is back to about 60 cents, not great... but it's not a buck. Sure, 30 cents would be nice but... well hopefully. In the meantime at least buy enough to where you could fight for a couple days.

The last 9mm I bought was $8.49 per fifty rounds. That's about $170.00 per thousand. I'm still good and will wait it out. I'll probably never see those prices again but there is lots of room for it to drop.

I can't help you there, the political hacks did that on purpose to make bulk purchases nearly impossible. That was one of my top ten reasons for leaving California. In the years prior leading up to that it was one of my reasons for spending enough on ammo to buy a new truck because an unarmed citizen is a subject and a slave to the whims of dictators. Those that chose to spend their money on things other than ammo when it was plentiful and easy to buy via the internet get to live with their decision.

As ammo becomes more plentiful, there are ways to arm yourself with plenty. Legally it's more difficult but still doable. There are also other ways involving road trips, but I would never suggest doing anything illegal I'll just leave it at that.

Anyway, all this is the premise for this thread. Whatever it takes, get caught with your pants down (again) at your own peril. Hopefully those of you left in CA that still love the USA and the 2nd will do what it takes.

I bought 1,000 rounds of .30-30 from Walmart for $9 a box too, that's not helpful is it? Yeah, I stocked up on 9mm at that price as well, and while there is still room for it to drop... It can only go from the current $25-ish a box down to zero even if it was free. But there is way more room for it to go back up. You'd pay $100 a box for it if you had none and needed it. Each person needs to make that decision for themselves, but reminiscing over buying it for $170 is a pipe dream at this point. I hope it goes below that... but I am equally as sure that the same morons that got caught without ammo this time, will still get caught short next time.

Uhhh, or you legally could not buy guns and ammo in CA until this year. Lots of people in that boat who are the people who are going to keep the gun rights movement and hobby chugging.

They did have a bunch of 5.56 at Bass Pro when i went there a couple weeks ago. It was $100 for 150 round white box range pack. Not amazing pricewise but they did have 100+ boxes of it there.
