    Ammo coming back...

I am slowly, but somewhat surely seeing ammo return to the market and prices dropping slightly. I am going to say this even knowing it will once again fall upon deaf ears but... without any further ado:

STOCK UP THIS TIME YOU IDIOTS!

You need as a bare minimum, 1,000 rounds of every common tactical caliber you own a weapon for and about 200 rounds for your hunting calibers. I don't care what it costs you, do it. This is in reserve to whatever you want to shoot, so double that amount as a rough estimate... again, these are minimums.

I could have sold my stash for a huge profit, but that's not why I bought it so I did not. There will come a time when ammo does NOT return to the market, your guns are worthless without it. So don't be an idiot (again), put down your bong and buy some ammo with your weed money you filthy California hippies.
Buy made in USA whenever possible.

I don't recommend round count. I recommend having ammo and/or components on hand to cover at least 2 years worth of shooting (not including self-defense / SHTF).

For example, I've seen people claiming they dump 3K rounds of 5.56 per year alone, so I would recommend having at least 6K 5.56 on hand at all times for those folks.

I might add 50% to my backlog of components from now on but I never ran out this last year nor have I paid more than 25% over pre 2020 costs, and only on 2 boxes of primers.

I do not see prices coming down , just slightly more inventory. But I am stocked up and have been for a few years. I have been keeping an eye on the prices.

The learning for me is that I did well with my primary calibers, but overbought (yeah, yeah) some minor calibers and underbought some as well. There's nothing quite so moronic as a gun with 10 rounds of ammo.

I also grossly underpurchased HP ammo for my handguns. That will be corrected.

I think the common calibers like 9mm 223/556 22lr seem to be coming back. I say seem because I think the cpr just went to high so it's staying on the shelves.

                    I still can't find 45acp, 10mm, 357 mag

You're right about 1k minimum that should be the absolute minimum. I had a case of 45acp delivered in March of last year bringing me to just over 2k. 9mm 556 7.62 was in the 3k range it was not enough to weather this storm. I ran out of 45 about 3 months ago just ran out of 9mm this month. 556 and 7.62 are low about 500 rounds of each.

I pray your right because turners, big 5 and other big box stores are high as ****.

BTW, raw material prices and availability are still impacting prices.
Copper is ‘the new oil’ and low inventories could push it to $20,000 per ton, analysts say: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/05/06/copp...per%20markets?

How does it even work these days with gun-mageddon? I take it internet purchases are a thing of the past?

70 cpr for 9mm still at LGS. Yes they have plenty. Not buying yet though.

**** I know that now. After sandyhook I was like never again. Got my ffl03/coe and would just order a case wherever I felt stash was getting low.

I died a little inside paying $535 for 1k of 9mm the other day. I tried to make myself feel better by remembering the walmart clearance haul and averaging my cpr over time.

                              Still hurt...
