Does anyone have experience with surplus Turkish 8mm?

I've heard it can run pretty hot due to its age, is it still safe to use in a Mauser? does it misfire often?

It's been a long time, almost 20 years since I've shot it. I had several different Mausers and I had no problem with it. It is a bit "hotter" than some 8mm Mauser loads but that's not saying much as the 8mm Mauser is pretty hot to began with.

As long as your rifles are in good condition you shouldn't have any problems.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Follow the link for a good review/breakdown on the issue...

I still have a half dozen bandoliers of it - yeah it seems a bit hot but I never had any issues with hangfires or duds. Damn it used to be cheap!

I don't mind running it in my K.Kale now and then.

Outside of that...nope. Plenty of factory from PPU to play it safe and keep my body parts.

Check for split necks, and don't use in a Hakim.....
              Other than that, it's fine

I have had good luck with it. Very accurate only two duds in all the years shooting it. Cracked necks are an issue. So long as you only use in a bolt action rifle you are good to go.

If you're super worried you could pull the projectiles for reuse and reload with cast lead and trail boss. Not sure I'd try to reuse the powder unless you kept a solid measure of that you started with and go down 10%. I wouldn't risk my body parts for that though.

I bet any surviving Australian Veterans of WW1 who survived Gallipoli would say Turk 8mm is lethal.

Something far more lethal than a 8X57mm or 303 Brit has taken all the survivor's of Gallipoli.

I don't think there were many Austrians at Gallipoli.

Very harsh recoil from what I remember. I might have a bandolier somewhere.

Not a single person in the crowd is rational or reachable because the parade's for gay folks and it's in SF.
