    Denied Ammo Purchase

    Hello,

Today I got denied an ammunition purchase. It has been a while since I purchased a firearm and I've moved a few times since then. At the end of last year I did paperwork for an intrafamilial transfer of a few guns and DOJ cashed the $19 check, so I assumed they processed it.

Last week I purchased a lower receiver and am in the middle of a 10 day waiting period. Shouldn't the intrafamilial transfer get you in the system for ammo purchase or can you not buy ammo in the middle of a 10 day waiting period? I'm lost and would appreciate anyone's help or experience.

You must have a firearm registered to you at your current address to be able for purchase of ammo. After your 10 day wait and pick up, you will be eligible for ammo purchase.

Sherpa1 is correct, your address should match your DL and last DROS. Since you moved, stuff probably didn’t match. When you pickup your lower, before they do your final paperwork, you should say that you also want to buy ammo.

What? Our CDL address must match our actual address? We have to have a registered weapon for the ammo that we're buying?

I haven't bought ammo in CA in several years, so this is new info to me.

The residence address on your ID or DMV Vehicle registration must match the address on your AFS record.

If your ID has a PO Box (mine does), have DMV add your residence address to your vehicle reg (I did). If you have AAA they can do this for you. There is a fee--they charged me $22. So far, no issues buying ammo.

As was mentioned above, let the FFL know that you want to buy ammo when you do the final DROS paperwork.

Note: You can buy any caliber/gauge ammo you want. The ammo you buy does not have to be for a gun you personally own.

How does one buy ammo if visiting Commiefornia?

Non residents cannot purchase ammo. Can only purchase at range and use at range. Bring your own.

All of our DMV records have our PO BOX for privacy and security.
Used real ID, CCW and FSC for ammo and firearm purchases.

Your CDL address must match a firearm record in AFS.

No you do bot have to have a matching gun for the ammo you are buying.

Wow that is such a stupid regulation. We moved before that went into effect thank God, didn't know it was such a pain in the *** to buy ammo. Piss on that.

CCW and FSC do not help with ammo purchases!

Isn't it illegal to import ammo?
