It's not quite that simple, but the general idea is that you just move along.

Why worry about "fake news?" Just move along and change the channel. Why worry about people selling bottled water or toilet paper at 10x the cost during natural disasters? Just move on.

Somewhere there is a balance, at the minimum we should be allowed to call it out and warn the unsuspecting. "Hey, this is fake news, don't listen to them!" Or, "hey this is a rip-off, here is a link to where you can get it cheaper!" Or, "that's a ridiculous price, the value is XYZ!"

Remember, if it was all "free" we would have not only a free market in CA (not merely "supply and demand," but the ability to sell guns in CA like in the rest of the country) AND we would have the ability to thread-crap in the for-sale threads to warn the unsuspected. We don't have these two fundamental freedoms, so there is a legitimate concern about price gouging.

Well another dynamic is this site has rules that we have to follow like them or not. Once again the beauty of freedom. I can choose to follow them or choose to post and buy and sell elsewhere or even start my own site.

I'm not disagreeing - the math ads up. It's just that it's not all black and white and it's certainly not "free." It is what it is, as you point out, though.

If there is no market for it then no one will buy it and the seller will lower their price, or they will never sell their gun.

So what's the problem? How is that taking advantage of people? No one has to pay $2000 for that gun, and if it is overpriced, a buyer should be able to find it cheaper elsewhere.
