There’s some good deals to be had even with off-rosters, just have to be quick.

The MP was a buyers market before Covid. I don’t have any on-roster Glocks anymore. I’ve bought G4 G26, G17, G19 for less than $600 each.

Id be willing to pay to play but I’m not spending $1400+ on a Sig P365.

I really don't have any need for an off roster handgun. All of my needs (and wants) have been satisfied with on roster handguns, exempt handguns or purchases made before the roster existed.

Certainly not what people ask here. A VP9 is a cool gun. But $1500 cool? No.

As much as I hate the “off roster premium” I have paid it to get a few guns that were not available otherwise. For me, my limit was no more than twice the normal retail price available in a free state, and even then it would have to be a gun that rarely came up for sale that I really wanted. For an older or less in demand off roster gun I would only pay a 50% premium or mark up. This was before the CHINESE caused WUHAN virus and current Gun/ammo shortage. I don’t plan to buy any guns on or off roster, until things (if or when?) get back to normal.

How much would you pay for an off roster gun?

I recently bought a lightly used Sphinx spd for $850. I know they go for a lot more but was not willing to pay those prices.

My last off roster purchase was a Sig P320 Compact. I paid $550 for it.

                    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

It depends really heavily on the specific off roster gun. For me, something like a Gen 4 or Gen 5 Glock is just NOT worth $1000 and up. Especially they're still actively produced and when so many are out there (therefore no collectors' value), and when they reflect minimal improvements over Gen 2-3. Ditto for other Glock-comparable plastic striker-fires like the HK VP9, Walther PPQ, or CZ P10C: they're cool but not twice a stock Glock cool.

If it was something like a Jericho 941 (of Cowboy Bebop fame) or something cool like a Beretta 81, that changes a little bit. But I'm still rather disclined to pay $1000+ for one knowing that I could get them significantly cheaper with a change of residence to a new address within an 8 hour drive.
