G19 or PX4

The PX4 shoots lighter than the G19. It feels better in the hands that the blocky Glock, too. Albeit, the former has a longer DA for the first pull.

It's the only Da/Sa I didn't like. That safety/decocker is inconvenient. Or I just wasn't used to it. It did fit well in the hand and shoot well.Comment

I have smallish hands. My Glock 17 (Gen 5) fits my hand better than my Glock 19 (Gen 4). The arch on the backstrap of my Glock 19 hits my hand in the middle of my palm while on my Glock 17 it hits on the bottom of my palm. The Glock 17 just feels better. Before getting a Glock 19 have her hold a Glock 17. A Glock 17 weighs 3 oz. more than a Glock 19 and that extra weight should help slightly dampen recoil. The Glock 17 has a longer sight radius too.
Almost any other polymer 9mm pistol (SIG P320 and P365, HK VP9, Walther PPQ, S&W Shield, etc.) feels better in the hand than a Glock, and I say that as someone who owns 4 Glocks.
.Revolvers are not pistols
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel

Here's a link to compare their sizes: https://www.handgunhero.com/compare/...px4-storm-full
As been mentioned the PX4 comes with different back straps to make it more comfortable for more shooters.Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I have both and enjoy shooting both.
As everyone has already stated, the PX4 is much more ergonomic than the G19. However, with that said, the G19 has a simpler manual of arms and is going to be more intuitive.
The recoil of the pistol can be managed with ammunition selection and a good grip/posture. When using the same ammunition in both, I've found very little difference in the perceived recoil. The G19 has a lower bore axis, but the PX4 utilizes a rotating barrel to lock the breech. Additionally, the PX4 is hammer fired, which helps decelerate the rearward movement of the slide. Again, I can't quantify how much each system helps mitigate recoil, as I can't really tell the difference. They're both polymer framed pistols that have enough flex where neither feel all that snappy to me.
If either of you have meaty hands like I do (aka: fat hands), you can end up with "Glock tracks" on top of your hand.
You may want to consider additional costs associated with your purchase as well. Glock magazines are typically cheaper than Beretta magazines. Since the G19 is more common, it will have greater holster and parts support.
If your local range has them for rent, I would strongly suggest taking her to try them out before buying anything. Especially if you intend to purchase only one of the two.Comment

We have both, but the Mrs. prefers the block19. Not for recoil, not for controls (or lack of). What gets the preference is the "sail area" of the slide. More to grab hold of on the block19. Replaced the safety on px4 with decocker only, so "control" is effectively gone. Freedom week gave +2 advantage to the px4. Now we each have our favorites."There are two ways, and two ways only, to control a society. One is fear, and the other is hope."
