    shipping a rifle

Can I ship a rifle to an out of state FFL, or do I need to have an FFL in CA ship it?

You can ship it directly yourself if the receiving FFL will accept it from a non-licensee. Follow their instructions.

If it is a registered assault weapon, then a different procedure is required.

Thanks. Is it possible the shipper might want to see a copy of FFL's license to verify?

If you are shipping to a FFL you are not required by law to identify what you are shipping.

However, *you* should verify that the FFL is legit and that you are shipping to the address on file with ATF.

Use the Ez-Check website - get the first two and last 5 digits of the FFL then enter them here

You can get a list of every FFL with complete number and address here, if they wont give it to you

Venmo or wire. Do not even consider using PayPal. They are majorly anti firearms.

This is the correct answer, its facilitated by Buds Gun Shop. Payment I'd say Paypal only works if no one mentions anything gun related, otherwise they will seize your payment.

Venmo is also owned by Paypal. I've used both regardless, discretely.

USPS is probability the most cost effective. Click on the link to read the postal instructions relative to shipping a firearm.

Maybe. My local UPS office does. My post office doesn't.

I only take postal money orders.

edit: Is this on gunbroker? Buyers will often put their FFL on the site and you can print it out if you want. I always make contact with the FFL anyway.

What make you think Venmo isn't "majorly anti firearms"? They are owned by PayPal.
                            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

As for payment the best way is a USPS MO. Once you get it you get the MO call the Money Order Verification System at 1-866-459-7822. This will tell you if you got a good MO or not.

If you did, you're good to go. If you didn't you didn't ship the product thinking that the MO was good only for the bank to come back and tell or so sorry. You can also go to any USPO and they will cash it for you if it's a good MO.

The only other way I accept payment is by Zelle, which is kind of like a "wire". The money gets deposited right into your checking/savings account and there is no way for the sender to "reverse" payment once sent.
