Has anyone here actually won a "Giveaway"?

It seems like just about every day there's a new thread on a "Giveaway"

The way I see it, it's just email gathering.

Anyone actually won one of these?

I've won $10,000,000. Still waiting for my prize from Nigeria. They just needed $1000 to help process the funds back to me.

NRA rifle door prize at Raahauge's back in the day. Ammo from Doubletap. Giftcards from 5.11, Cabellas, Bass Pro and Davidsons.

Lots of lesser silly crap from the marketers Oldmandan doesn't like.

There really should be a separate area for those gems.

Not yet. But I'm sure I'm going to win the NRA truck this time.

I've noticed on Springfield Armory's gun giveaways that zero people win from California. That's can't be a coincidence. Too much of a headache for them to deal with the roster issue.

Well, you can't have that, but if you're an American citizen you are entitled to: a heated kidney shaped pool, a microwave oven--don't watch the food cook, a Dyna-Gym--I'll personally demonstrate it in the privacy of your own home, a kingsize Titanic unsinkable Molly Brown waterbed with polybendum, a foolproof plan and an airtight alibi, real simulated Indian jewelry, a Gucci shoetree, a year's supply of antibiotics, a personally autographed picture of Randy Mantooth and Bob Dylan's new unlisted phone number, a beautifully restored 3rd Reich swizzle stick, Rosemary's baby, a dream date in kneepads with Paul Williams, a new Matador, a new mastadon, a Maverick, a Mustang, a Montego, a Merc Montclair, a Mark IV, a meteor, a Mercedes, an MG, or a Malibu, a Mort Moriarty, a Maserati, a Mac truck, a Mazda, a new Monza, or a moped, a Winnebago--Hell, a herd of Winnebago's we're giving 'em away, or how about a McCulloch chainsaw, a Las Vegas wedding, a Mexican divorce, a solid gold Kama Sutra coffee pot, or a baby's arm holding an apple?

I've won one from Eotech some time ago, a XPS3 and magnifier set. They issued a 1099 for the winning value so it's not completely free. I still have them both un-opened on my shelf.

I don't recall where I entered the giveaway though.

Like I've been saying before... these "Giveaways" are just information gathering ploys just like the ones you see before in shopping malls forecourt, enticing you with win a new car if you just fill out an entry form with your name and contact details!

Why some people here fall for it here is beyond me ...
