      All jokes aside:

Standard load out while I was deployed was 7 30rnd magazines. When they were needed, they sometimes went much quicker than you wanted them to. I keep at least ten loaded in my "go" bag. I would rather have it and not need it...

For my CCW, I keep a spare mag in my back pocket and a few in the console of my car. It doesn't do much good to have a bang-stick if you got no bang.

As far as spare mags, I grab a few every time I find them for a good price. I have extras in case one breaks or fails to function smoothly when I'm at the range. IMO, magazines cause more failures than any other component when firing...so redundancy.

i can only afford and have the space for about 10 magazines per gun. anything that shares magazines, i count separately.

so for example i have 10 mags for the glock pistol, and 10 mags for my ruger pcc. overall i would have 20 glock magazines but still 10 per gun. so if i have 3 AR15's, i would have 30 AR mags.

but i do keep more magazines for the guns i use in competition though since those see more abuse and i don't want to be short magazines while at the match due to a mag malfunction.

this is also why i love when gun companies think of the consumer and don't price their damn magazines over $50 each.... it makes me prefer to buy their guns over others that decide to price their magazines like it is a bar of gold. magazines are expendable and do require replacement.

I have mags for guns I don't even own yet.

If you had to live through the mag bans, you'll know why.

                Reasons to stack mags:

They do wear out and become less reliable with use.

A few years ago there was a panic where AR mags went for as much as $100 each. I expect a similar situation if Dementia Joe finds a way to outlaw standard capacity mags or bans ARs.

10 per rifle is not a lot. Think how you would feel if you couldn't buy any more, would you be kicking yourself.

They are actually not that expensive right now. I ordered 80 to add to my collection right after the election, had them sent out of state. Get extras now.

                Your kids may want them.

I keep magazines in different places, and in different packs or bags.

Don't forget to buy spare parts for your ARs too.

Good job on your ammo stacking. I'm proud of my collection.

sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

I keep a lot for my go-to HD type rifles, but only about 10 per handgun. Except Glock 9mm, I have quite a few of those.

Also. Mag pouches. Extra ammo for the go bag. Holsters for the pistols. Slings for the rifles.

The state of California puts limit of 10 rounds per mag. But there are no limits on number of mags. Just following the stupid laws.

For my AK I have (legally acquired) 4x 30 round mags and 3x 20 round mags That’s 200 rounds. It’s more than I could efficiently carry. And AK mags are exceedingly durable. There’s no logical reason to stock up more unless I’m fighting in a real war, but real wars have supply chains. It’s not like I’m going to empty a bunch of mags and then walk home to get more.

Im comfortable with a dozen magazines per firearm , if it's something that gets regular use

use a few and keep a few for spares

and the minimal for any gun is 5 spare mags

mags are like ammo, you can never have too many, they have a long shelf life
