CA Shooting Ranges - Google Earth update

Just curious if anyone out there would be interested in an updated Google Earth File that would contain southern,central and northern california shooting ranges? I'd also like to update the BLM and National Forest shooting areas as well. RedHorse's original thread on this subject can be found here.


Here is a spreadsheet of all the ranges listed by RedHorse as well as ones that I was able to find on various sites online.

If there is any interest and you would be willing to help, click on the link above to enter any updated information. Here's what I need in order to update the existing kmz file:

• Addresses or GPS (Lat. & Long) for the ones that only have a P.O. Box.
• If you know of a range that is not on the list please add it to the spreadsheet.
• If any of these ranges are no longer open or have changed their name please update the spreadsheet where applicable.

I believe that RedHorse covered most of those already. I'll take a look at it though and see if it needs to be updated. If you don't have google earth you can check them out using this link from the previous thread.

The address was listed under Los Angeles Silhouette Club . I went ahead and fixed it so that it says Angeles Range.

There is also a 1000yd range known either as the "Tri-County Range" or the "Cuyama Range." I have never made it out there, but they have occasional high power matches. Maybe OCABJ would have exact coordinates. I have just heard it is on the SE side of the CA33-CA166 intersection somewhere around here.

On a different note, how does one enter that info into GoogleEarth? Can you put a link to instructions on how to do this in the first post? Or maybe do like Redhorse and put a downloadable in the first post?
