Would you shoot through your windshield?

I guess if I have to, but I'd rather hit the brakes and pull over.

So let me get this straight...

In his rear view mirror he notices someone driving too fast and trying to get around him
He then proceeds to brake check them
He shoots at them thru his windshield as they pass him
He posts the video on youtube

guy sounds certifiably insane. He needs to be locked up for a loooong time.

In that situation, no. Stop and pull over or slow down, problem over.

Good lesson not what to do, IMO.
Aggressive idiot behind you?...I prefer to get out of the way and avoid. They will cause their own grief soon enough.
Shooting through the windshield? Sure, in the correct scenario. IMO, this wasn’t one of those. If I’m driving, my weapon is secured, and I’m......driving. It’s one or the other. Additionally, I consider a vehicle in most circumstances to be a much better weapon.
As an aside, Gunsite offers a great and fun class on vehicle defensive tactics; I highly suggest it if you have the means. It has been one of my favorites so far.

Where did you see that? The video I watched doesn't show his buddy talking and says the driver fired after the other guy pointed a gun at him.

Road rage is borderline temporary insanity.

Never. Moving vehicles are for evasion and escape. Worst case ramming.

When the shooting starts the vehicle is a well defined target you don't want to be in.

I suspect most of us here get pissed when BLM, Politicians, and the Media, etc, jump to conclusions on police shootings before any or all the details and evidence comes out, and yet here we are doing the same based on this “snippet” of video. There are more details to this story. Yes it looks bad, and I would be surprised if further details justifies this one, but I personally will hold judgement on this until I hear all the facts. There would be a lot less division, and rioting in our country if the left and the media (redundant?) would wait for all the facts too, but then I guess ratings and pushing an agenda are more important than the truth.

I get what you're saying about withholding judgement til all the facts come out. You're right.

The frustration for me is that this makes ALL OF US who are into guns or who carry look bad...

Unless my family is with me in the car and other car hits us and sideswipes my car, then my .45acp will do the talking thru the drivers window!

But on this case, I would change lane and let him thru. Cooler heads prevail.

He's watched too many OIS that has LEOs shooting through their windshields. I'm sure there's bullet deflection, so you can't count on your rounds going point of aim. But you still have to account for them after they leave your weapon. Seems like a terrible idea to me, unless last resort, in a true life or death situation.
