IIRC, HR 45 was last year. It's deader than Jimmy Hoffa.

Off topic, the title of your post got me thinking waht fun it would be to join the different anti-gun groups posing as a rabid anti, and issue FUD about made-up pro-gun votes/bills in congress with the idea of having them run in circles crying wolf about non-existent issues.
Brilliant! We should actually do that!

I saw a vendor with the same exact schtick in Houston last weekend. I laughed out loud and moved on. It's not exactly original...

I agree with you on its fate, but technically HR 45 is new in name, just old in content. It was HR 2666 since July of 2007. It wallowed in sub-committee until it was thrown out due to the new congressional session. The author can then re-introduce at the start of the next session. Which he did.

I fully expect this one to wallow in sub-committee as well. It is too broad even for most Democrats.

The mistake being made is that many people automatically associate Democrats with anti-gun. While it is true that the anti-gunners ARE Democrats, there are still many Dems that support the 2nd.

HR 45 - Another reason why we are going broke. The law makers are presenting lawmaking entertainment distractions rather than problem solutions. Fire them now please!

Back to the OP topic,, FUD and other negative advertising is just that, advertising. It's up to the buyer to filter this distraction along with the rest. I'll buy based on need, technical merits, price, the ability to make a profit for some items, and sometimes desire.. The rest is a sideshow at best and a waste of my time at worst. Applies to used item sales as well. Terms like "MIB", "RARE", "Shot only once on Sundays by a little old lady from Pasadena" are just BS glitz for describing a USED item.

But hey, I know both positive and negative advertising works on other people. I will use both to make the sale.

"Obama Tubes" = mental image of a suppository.

well, what is some anti-gun FUD we can use?

Hey, this "guns in national parks" topic is big for them.

We could start rumors of machine gun shoots in the parks, squirrel hunting with .50 BMG's or bald eagles being shot with surface to air missiles.

Maybe a bunch of tourists at yellowstone beaten to death with pistol grips, collapsable stocks and pelted with muzzle breaks
