Its always been buyer beware - especially at fun shows. Those that take the time to research will be rewarded with knowing what is a good bargin and what is not.

Off topic, the title of your post got me thinking waht fun it would be to join the different anti-gun groups posing as a rabid anti, and issue FUD about made-up pro-gun votes/bills in congress with the idea of having them run in circles crying wolf about non-existent issues.

FUD from a FFL is just funny. A FFL spouting disinformation and ignorance of state and federal gun law is inexcusable. I still see massive amounts of ignorance and stupidity regarding OLL and Off List firearms from store front gun shops. If they just don't want to sell certain firearms because they look "scary" fine. But don't tell customers they are illegal and "everyone who has bought one IS GOING TO JAIL."

Unfortunately it goes against most people's nature to just admit they do not know everything. If they don't know all the fact or are still uneasy about selling OLL items then that's fine. It would just be cool of they didn't have to spew all the other nonsense out with it.

Then again I see FFLs that are way into the OLL movement, and won't do intra familial transfers, "cause that isn't legal". To me that seems just as naive. Here they are "pushing" the letter of the law, yet they will not read up on other aspects. If your going to be a forward thinking FFL, BE a forward thinking FFL.

I heard that the gubmet is releasing a lot of illegals from our prisons and deporting them. I bet it's to make room for all of us with those "illegal AWs" that confirm to SB23 and are not listed by make and model.

Another tactic I have seen on GB is using the word "RARE" on their item. Their price usually reflects their use of that word. Another is "NEVER ISSUED" I have seen this on Mosin Nagants and SKS's. On the picture of the guns many will show the square with the line running corner to corner. This means re-arsenal, lol. The faster a seller talks the more lies he can get in, in a short time. Don't misconstrue my comments to include all sellers. Most of the sellers I choose to deal with are honest folks just trying to make a living. Before you buy at a gun show or on-line auction, research what you are looking to buy. See how many was produced and which ones are truly rare. If ordering non-c&r handguns make sure they are on the CA approved list. Download a copy of the handbook from DOJ so you can refer to it when someone is telling you something your not sure about. An informed shopper doesn't always rely on the sellers opinion.

Exactly, now there are obvious factors that affect our hobby, and certainly we must be diligent. That doesnt mean be a bunch of chicken little's.

Like right around the election when people that dont really care about guns were buying up AR's and AK's. My uncle was one of these. He bought a bunch of stuff just because he might not be able to later. That is dumb to me. Now, if you were thinking of getting an AK already, it might be a good idea to pick one up if you can. Im all for guys like my uncle buying this stuff if they are truly interested, but I hate to see it sit in a closet or end up in a pawn shop.

On second thought, I hope it all ends up in a pawn shop.

Actually it is to get all the assault weapons off the streets. They are giving one to each deportee to take back to their home country.
