Funny, at the shooting range, they do have authority.
Crazy, huh? Don't like it, don't go.
How about you get trained, and hired as a range master, and spend your days dealing with a bunch of entitled prima dona types who think they all know it all and don't have to follow the range rules, and see how flexible you are feeling at work every day.
Every time I go to a public range, I see at least one act of stupidity from a shooter, sometimes inattention, sometimes inexperience, sometimes because they are just straight up an idiot. And I typically spend, at most, 30 minutes at an public range. Assuming that is an average, a range master could easily see at least 16-20 stupid actions by shooters on their range during their shift.
Any wonder why they would snap at some "I know better than you" whiner on their range?
I have totally encountered range masters who have been acting like a Johnson, but having worked a small amount as a RM, I can understand why their shorts may be twisted. Having walked a short distance in their shoes, I won't argue, even if they may not technically be correct.
