The question should be more about which guns are hard to rack and why, then how to alleviate some of the problems...
First, smaller guns will be hard to rack because they have stiff springs. Then, hammer-fired guns can be "cheated" by manually cocking the hammer so the force is used only against the recoil spring and not to cock the hammer. Striker-fired guns can't use the same trick.
Most importantly, racking the slide is not a brute force deal. It's finesse. There are different ways to hold the slide and there are different ways to go against the recoil spring. The strength in the fingers that holds the slide and prevents it from slipping must be separated from the strength required to move the slide.
One way that works for both racking the slide and clearing a malfunction is to hold the gun by the slide, then use the strong hand to push on the grip. It's amazing how much easier it is when weak hand holds the slide and strong hand works the recoil spring.sigpicNRA Benefactor MemberComment

Sounds like a technique issue. Regardless, I say let him get the Glock if that's what he really wants. His issue, his problem. Plus, we humanoids have a tendency to have more tolerance for "issues" when it comes to things we really want/like. Otherwise, like others have already stated, the 92FS variants are surprisingly smooth in the action department.Comment

Do him a favor and steer him to the gym, not a SW MP EZ. If he can’t rack a slide, ol boy can’t even open a jar.WTB Oakhurst stamped CZ firearms

Use both hands. My wife had a hard time. When she took here intro class they taught the push/pull method using both hands in opposite directions.Comment

Anything with a high bore-axis should help with gripping the slide so avoid CZs.
Also, as mentioned by a couple of the posters above, have hin use his off hand to hold the slide and push the frame with his dominant hand.Comment
